The interior of this place is very beautiful and different from the other restaurants in the area. I love the open windows in the front of the restaurant, makes for a different feel when the weather’s nice. The service here was a 3/5, the waitress was very sweet but she wasn’t very knowledgeable with the menu and wasn’t sure on questions that were asked. Also we had to call her over a bit rather than her coming to the table. The manager Rubio, was so friendly and came over to make sure everything was great. Price wise some items were over priced but others were reasonable. For the selection and prices of drinks I was surprised they didn’t offer a bottled water of some sort, like Aqua Pana. The normal water served did taste like that Louisiana faucet water. The menu had a great selection, presentation was decent, the whole aesthetic was very beautiful. Taste was overall tasty. The bread they serve with the balsamic/oil was amazing, hummus was great,
the crab stuffed mushrooms were so good, probably my favorite thing we had there. The Peruvian ceviche was a tad disappointing, it wasn’t true leche de tigre, it was missing the corn and correct juice; it just tasted like normal ceviche with sweet potatoes added. The ones we’ve had before the leche de Tigre was more milky in color and the flavor was so different with the aji limo peppers and delicious accompanied with sweet potatoes, Peruvian corn roasted and soft with onions. My husband got the pork chop, he said it was a 4/5, I got the roasted chicken with one side which was cooked great, the chicken was tender and juicy but it didn’t have a lot of flavor like I was expecting. I had it flavored with the aji panca. I did not care for the aioli, it just tasted like mayo. The potatoes were great, the seafood paella was decent, and our friends said the chicken Parmesan was tasty. Overall the meal was good. This place has lots of potential, I feel a few things should be more elevated if they’re wanting to stay at some of the price points. Not sure if I’ll ever go out of my way to come back, but I’m glad we got to try it. Nice little addition to downtown.
We finally visited Lighthouse Coastal Brasserie tonight, which opened in January 2025, and we were thoroughly impressed. This coastal-inspired restaurant offers something truly unique to the Hammond dining scene.
The standout dish was their Carpaccio – thinly sliced smoked New York strip rubbed with coffee, served cold with an egg yolk and topped with arugula and parmesan. The presentation and flavor combination were exceptional.
Their signature dish is the rotisserie chicken, which I ordered served Peruvian aji panca with macha crunch sauce, which is a spicy garlic sauce. It was the best chicken I have had in a very long time!
Everything about our experience was top-notch. The cocktails were expertly crafted with premium spirits and interesting flavor combinations. The décor is sophisticated and distinctive – a refreshing departure from the usual local restaurant aesthetics.
The restaurant features a beautiful dining area with two retractable areas in the roof, creating a perfect atmosphere for dining. This place is exactly what Hammond needed!
The chicken rotisserie was tender, juicy and delicious. My husband’s smash burger was juicy and delicious. The fries were crunchy outside but creamy inside. The price was at the expected level considering the food price skyrocketted. The owner would greet the guests and ask them if everything was fine. Only 1 thing caught my eyes. The waitress’s shirt looked very bad. It was clean but I think it never touched the iron. She was very polite and helpful but I couldn’t take my eyes off her shirts wrinkles. The owner should have provided an iron to everyone just in case. I would do that just as a cosmetic touch!
