It was a really satisfying experience overall.
We ordered podi idly and the chicken fry piece boneless biryani. The chicken fry piece boneless biryani was absolutely the highlight of the meal. The chicken fry tasted so homemade it honestly reminded me of the kind of chicken fry my mom used to make, full of flavour and cooked with so much care. It had that comforting, authentic taste that feels personal and nostalgic. Paired with the flavorful rice, it was just perfect. The chicken was tender, well-seasoned, and blended beautifully with the spices in the biryani. I genuinely loved it.
The idli was okay-ish soft and fresh, but nothing very special compared to the biryani. It was decent, just not the standout dish.
Overall, the food quality was really good, and I would definitely go back again especially for that chicken fry piece boneless biryani. If you’re visiting, that’s a must-try!

I had to eat something quick so I went here. It was pretty good, nice painting inside but nothing else. The seating was pretty bland but good enough. The food was good but not enough salt or spices to the dishes. Overall it was fine it had good quality but lacked in flavor.

Hole in a wall informal Indian place and with lots of Indian people which is a good sign. Friendly service. However, they use all plastic and paper plates and bottled water which is not something I like -not environmentally friendly and feels kind of weird. Food was tasty though. Nan bread was a bit too dry for me. The other table seems to have freshly made dosa which looks really good.

Great food and service! The idli and dosa we ordered here are easily some of the best we’ve had in North Carolina. We got the signature dishes on the menu – Nalla Karam Idli and the Rawa Onion Masala Dosa. The portion sizes are generous and the flavors are spot on. I read they cool with peanut oil which definitely makes a difference. Definitely check this place out if you are in the Morrisville area!

Visited a new restaurant in town and had a great experience! The ambiance was excellent, and the location is easy to access. We tried the biryani, mango mousse, and a few beverages — everything was delicious. The customer service was outstanding as well. Definitely planning to visit again!

This is an excellent restaurant with truly delicious Indian food. If you really enjoy authentic spicy South Indian cuisine, you absolutely must visit this place. Be sure to try the dosa, idli, and milk tea — honestly, everything on the menu is worth trying.

We visited yesterday with friends to try the Festival Thali, and it was an outstanding experience. Even with a large crowd, the quality of food and service was excellent.
The Food
The Thali was exceptional, especially the Pongal , pulihora and guthi vankaya fry. The Gobi 65 was a standout dish. If you are a fan of South Indian classics, their Mysore Masala Dosa is a must-try.

The staff is incredibly kind and helpful. Huge thanks to them for taking such great care of us. They were very patient while handling our large order and ensured we had everything we needed.

Been to Southern spice a couple of times and pleasantly surprised both times. The good: solid south indian, generqlly Andhra/tamil good. Very good dosas and sincere thali with proper combo of food. Decent list of menu items and all of them at our table felt fresh and right. Most food is reasonable priced for the local market. Some things can be tweaked a bit, like…idli can be improved to be fluffier. I am glad that they are using paper cups and plates instead of plastic, though it could cost them more. Overqll nice vibe and good supportive staff. TASTE gets them 5 stars
