Other than that, my fiancé (never satisfied with his burger size/flavor/ and often complains about soggy burgers from restaurants) said that his Wagyu burger was the best burger he’s had a restaurant that he can remember, so we appreciate that! (He also loved the fries!) The Bang Bang shrimp is a must-have if we ever make it back! I ordered the Red Snapper but wasn’t super impressed, unfortunately. I didn’t get any resemblance of coconut in the dish and the snapper was a little to tough to chew to enjoy it. My fiance loved my mashed potatoes, but I thought they were kind of dull. My asparagus was cooked well …
We’d come back if we’re in the area, but I’ll try another dish next next time .. probably the fish or shrimp tacos now that I know how tasty the shrimp tempura is.
Overall, definitely would recommend to others and might be back in the future 🙂
We were given a dinner and lunch menu (I’m sure the lunch menu was an accident), and a wine list. I had to ask for the full drink menu (again, I think this was an accident as our waitress was surprised they had a booklet that only had their wine listed).
We decided to go with a couple drinks to start. I got something with tequila and dragon fruit (3/5 – I thought it would be sweeter but was very heavy on the tequila flavor) and my husband got something with bourbon and lime (5/5 – this was absolutely delicious and I don’t normally like bourbon).
We skipped appetizers and went straight to dinner. I got the scallops and they were 5/5 delicious! My only gripe was, though this is a higher end restaurant, over $30 for 3 scallops, mashed potatoes and mushrooms/spinach is on the expensive side.
My husband got steak which he said was also 5/5 delicious. The fresh herb butter was his favorite part of it.
The service was very attentive and we overall really enjoyed our evening!
We started out with specialty cocktails . The pink lady was very unique with its rock candy stick. The Old-fashioned had a distinctly cinnamon flavor, delicious. We ordered the small plate chicken dumplings, which were especially delicious due to the tangy and spicy sauce with nice flavors. Best of the food offerings for me!
The beet salad had a very sweet dressing , with a some diced beets, lots of caramelized pecans and a very lovely soft cheese. My husband and I shared the salad. For entrees: the mango shrimp tacos were delicious – the green salsa very spicy. The root pie was unique with red sauce and chipotle flavors.
The restaurant space was not as cool as it needs to be to enjoy dining. The air conditioning couldn’t do the job it needed to do and it was about 80° inside.
Our server visited our table frequently, but we had to ask for completed dishes /plates to be taken away and also ask for water refills.
Reservations are recommended. Specify the table that you want -I think the north side of the seating area is more pleasant than the southside.
The bar is ample. Visit here during the week for a happy hour from 4 to 6 pm. On Wednesdays enjoy Half Price bottle of wine.
