Service Excellence
Our server, Linzy, elevated the evening with her knowledgeable and enthusiastic guidance through their extensive cocktail menu. The Raspberry Ramble and the Paloma were both well-balanced and refreshingly crafted—definitely worth ordering again.
Small Plates That Impress
We began with the Smoked Salmon Crostini, a distinctive appetizer that paired smoky richness with the crisp freshness of cucumber. It was elegantly plated and flavorful—an ideal start to the meal.
Entrées and Highlights
For our main course, we ordered the filet, accompanied by golden Yukon mashed potatoes and cheese grits. The steak was cooked to the correct temperature, though it leaned slightly bland and required more seasoning than preferred. The mashed potatoes were smooth and satisfying, but the real revelation was the cheese grits—creamy, savory, and full of flavor.
My wife chose the BBQ shrimp and grits, which was the undeniable highlight of the night. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the BBQ sauce rich and well-balanced, and once again, the grits stole the spotlight.
The Sweet Goodbye (That’ll Have to Wait)
Although we were too full for dessert, the strength of the meal ensures we’ll be returning to see what sweet creations await.

The service was above average, and the food and atmosphere were really good for the price. I’ve paid 10x what the food here cost at other restaurants and still been disappointed, so this place’s food was a nice refresher. I would definitely recommend!

First time here. The food was pretty good. Prices are reasonable, too. Our waitress was fine, but she seemed to lose interest when we didn’t order wine or some other alcoholic drinks. The decor is humorous, what with the painted-over El Jarrito motif, but the bar seemed to fit that style. Funny. Anyway, and unfortunately, we left with a sour aftertaste when, after signing our ticket and having some old friends stop at our table on the way out, a young lady very rudely interrupted our conversation to ask if we wanted to-go drinks. Wow. I can assume many things, but it was obvious that management needed our table. I guess if you’re not buying shots, it’s best to eat and get on outta here. Hopefully, somebody in charge will read this and save a customer or two to make up for our never returning.

We had a beautiful night there. The server, Lucy B, was excellent and the Chef made some amazing dishes. We were there for La Tech’s homecoming and I had the Redfish Florentine (a dish that should be a main staple there in my opinion). I’ve lived over a half a century and it was one of the best fish plates I’ve ever had. We will return, and they’re building a second location in downtown Ruston!! Woohoo!!

Our first experience and definitely top of our list now. All the drinks we tried were fantastic. The last paradise is definitely my new fave. Lindsey, our server, was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere was very chilled and laid back. Food. 10/10. Redfish and the bbq shrimp and grits. We will be back. Might be this week lol. So worth every penny.

The smell. If you’re going to eat here, check the hours of the nail salon next door. If it’s open, it smells like you’re eating your food in a chemical lab.
The front door staff was friendly, but that was really the highlight.
We had the truffle fries for a starter. Meh.
The food wasn’t great. I had the bbq shrimp and grits and while grits were “ok” the bbq sauce was basically just 100% lemon and the shrimp were rubber. I could only eat a little.
If you’re looking for a higher end dining experience, this isn’t it.
I suppose reviews don’t lie, and maybe it was just a bad night. I was devastated I spent $85 dollars for a meal I didn’t eat and a chemical smell that gave me a headache all night.

Inside gave me a south Louisiana vibe with live music playing while we were there. I recommend the Pimento app and the herbed tuna. LARGE cocktail menu has something to suit anyone’s taste. I am@not up here often but I will definitely come back for round 2!

The management and service was beyond accommodating! If you have big parties of 5 or more reservations are definitely recommended. The NY strip was phenomenal. Great seasoning. You want top notch cocktails this is the place to visit in town.
