What a hidden gem! This countryside restaurant in the village has some of the best American comfort food around. Everything tasted homemade and full of flavor — from the juicy burgers to the perfectly crisp fries and warm, flaky pie for dessert. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel like part of the community. It’s the kind of place you want to linger, enjoy a great meal, and relax. Highly recommend for anyone passing through or looking for a true local experience!

A nice place to grab a meal in the middle of nowhere.
There’s no cell reception in the area, so the restaurant’s Wi-Fi is a real relief.
It’s an American-style meat diner, and the guy at the counter was very friendly and helped us when we asked for directions to the next town.

What can you eat there?
Burgers and steaks — nothing extraordinary, but for a place in the middle of nowhere, it’s definitely a solid and satisfying meal.

I got my breakfast and dinner here. While staying in a room in the nearby motel.

The food was very good, but what was master level is the service: everybody is amazingly friendly and kind, always with a smile. At the general store they told me everything is family owned. ♥️

I really recommend it.

Super delicious food, very friendly service, and all prepared to a quality you’d only wish for on any European highway. Perfect for lunch (and breakfast, too). If it weren’t so busy, we’d come here once a week

Awesome California burger. Never thought avacado would work. But it was great. Super friendly folks. Great service. Prices are higher than average but that’s fully expected due to the remoteness. So no complaints there at all.

So good that we are there for lunch on the way into the park and for dinner on the way back to our hotel in Lone Pine! For lunch we enjoyed the falafel wrap and the Greek salad. Very fresh and tasty! For dinner we had chili, fried green beans and a burger. All very flavorful. Really loved the fried green beans. Will visit again!

I visited this place back in 2018 and was really impressed with the food, service, and ambiance at that time. After seven years, my boyfriend and I made a point to visit again at the end of November, but unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience.

There was only one person working in the entire restaurant, and he was running back and forth trying to manage everything. I do appreciate that he was friendly and polite despite being overwhelmed — thank you for that.

We ordered two burgers, and I got a glass of wine. Sadly, the wine was served in a glass that looked very dirty, with water stains and residue, as if it hadn’t been used or cleaned properly in a long time. The wine itself tasted like it came from a very old, open bottle — I couldn’t even drink it. The coffee we ordered wasn’t good either.

It’s sad to see how much things have changed since my first visit. All the charm from 2018 seems to be gone. Maybe it’s because of the pandemic or staffing issues, but it left me feeling frustrated. We drove all the way from Las Vegas through Death Valley just to visit this place again because of the wonderful memories I had from before. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to those memories this time around.

Looks a bit rough from the outside, but you’ll find that’s part of the charm. Better still, the food is the you’ll find within 100 miles at least. Service is great, too. Just like DVNP, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Margaritas are unique and quite good, too.
