When I heard a South Block was coming to Springfield I was super excited. I never had South Block where I lived before, so trying it for the first time lived up to the hype everyone had said about it. They have avacado toast options and a variety of smoothie bowls and smoothies with natural ingredients. My favorite would have to be PB and J bowl, with the mermaid bowl being a close 2nd. If you’re in the area and want something fresh then I would definitely suggest coming here!

On January 1, 2026, South Block decided to CUT their açaí bowl portions in half while still charging full price. I ordered a bowl today and was honestly shocked that they felt comfortable serving such a small amount of food. I won’t even post a picture, you’ll see it for yourself when you order. Until they return to their original bowl size, I won’t be a customer…. This is nothing more than corporate greed disguised as a “business decision.”

It took about 20 minutes to get my order even though there was only one other customer. There were two employees in the back. I almost asked for a refund and walked out. Next time, I would just ask the employees to communicate the wait time. I’m assuming there was a large DoorDash order or something like that. I just need to know my wait time.

I came in here on New Year’s Eve in a hurry and I was not disappointed by my service, the workers care about creating an atmosphere that welcome everyone expecially Corey. He helped me in a moment where I was indecisive and made sure I was still helped in a timely manner while making sure I was also satisfied. 10/10 experience Corey and Denise both made my day.
