Mostly great food, but heavy-handed on the salt.

We enjoyed our dinner at Roux last night. Our waitress, Alex, was an absolute treat from the moment we arrived– seriously a gem of a human being.

Our group of 6 attempted to order everything on the small menu and almost succeeded. Standout dishes were the potato pavé, trout ceviche, apple pecan salad, and hanger steak.

I tried everything except for the chicken and pappardelle pasta. My trout entree was nice, but the farro that came on top of it was extremely salty. I also wasn’t super impressed with the presentation. While we’re on the topic of salt, my wife had the mushroom agnolotti, which may have been the saltiest dish I’ve tried in years. It was nearly inedible.

I told Alex how salty these dishes were and she was apologetic and said she would relay the message to the kitchen. I hope they were receptive to the feedback.

We all thought the cocktails were good, along with the bread & butter. The restaurant has a nice intimate vibe, fitting for a variety of occasions. Will I plan a return visit? Probably not soon.

I had seen videos of this resturant online, so we decided to give it a try last night for our Valentine’s dinner. The restaurant itself is small, but made for a quiet and intimate dinner.

The service was great and all of the food was spaced out perfectly and the bread and butter they bring out to start was delicious! We have the Funeral Potato Pave to start and we both loved it! For entrees, I ordered the Mushroom Agnolotti and my husband ordered the Japanese Potato Gnocchi. I loved my dish! Neither of us were super crazy about the gnocchi dish my husband ordered, it was just very sweet. I also ordered the Rouxlette to drink and did not love it.

Overall, we would definitely come back and try some other items on the menu!

From start to finish, this was an absolutely exceptional dining experience. Our waiter, Kai, was truly outstanding!! He was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about every item on the menu. His recommendations were spot-on and elevated the entire night.

We were a large party and ended up ordering just about everything, and not a single speck of food was left on the table, every dish was THAT good. Each person raved about their meal, which says everything.

The cocktails were next-level and the wine list was perfectly curated — thoughtful, balanced, and full of great surprises. This place absolutely nailed hospitality, food, and atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

EVERYTHING! The food was SO good!!! One of the most fully satisfying restaurant meals I’ve had in a long time. The sausage pasta will be on my mind for weeks (dip the cloud-soft focaccia in the sauce, trust me), and I’ll be renewing that memory before then. The ambience was so comforting, just felt homey and upscale at the same time. The service was fast, and the server, Maxx, was above and beyond helpful. Also LOVED the bread and the Pave appetizer. The chicken my wife got was super good too. I left just really really happy!

The restaurant is lovely, the atmosphere, excellent. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, and the entrees were the trout and the hanger steak. Plates were well composed with excellent pairings and were well spiced. The hanger steak was under cooked, despite very clear communication on how the preparation was requested. They were also out of the Basque cheesecake, a highly anticipated item by the dining party. I would visit again, but I would call first to ensure menu item availability. The undercooked steak is, however, inexcusable at this price point.

Let me tell you… This food was some of the best food I’ve had in a very long time. I am a picky eater and when I sat down and saw this menu, I was super worried that I was not going to find anything to eat. There were spices that I didn’t know, Sauces that I didn’t know. But oh my goodness the food was so tasty. There were so many layers of seasoning. I had the chicken dish and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The Brussels sprouts and funeral potatoes were so good I could have eaten those for a meal only. Then the desserts?!?? I was so full but I had to keep eating!!!

Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! I was so happy that my friend chose this place and I cannot wait to take people to this restaurant who come from out of town.

This restaurant is seriously underappreciated, I have to say. The location makes them easy to miss. But I’ve been twice and both times, it’s felt like just good food any unnecessary fanfare. The dishes are described simply but the flavors are nuanced and beautifully balanced. I’d recommend Shakshouka for brunch and the pasta with sausage and kale for dinner.

Wish list: I would love a fruit bowl or green salad side for brunch. Personally I just love having a lighter option and some vegetables so we didn’t try their brunch for a long time because they didn’t have any. But we ordered a French toast with berries and Shakshouka and that balance was perfectly acceptable.

I rarely write restaurant reviews but I just have to shout out Kai! He took care of my family and me this evening and he was outstanding. Super warm, friendly, and knowledgeable and he took extra time to make genuine connections with us. Honestly one of the best servers we’ve ever encountered anywhere. And the food was amazing as always, super tasty and every single dish we ordered was incredible. We love Roux!

Portions are huge and flavor is great but wasn’t blown away. Service is friendly and incredibly fast. It was kind of slow when we came in so that could be why everything came out so quickly. We ordered 2 Roux Old Fashioned’s and they were good (for a boozy Utah cocktail). Table bread is delicious. I would have liked some time to enjoy the cocktails before the appetizers came out, or spaced out the appetizers a bit more. but I get everyone is different here on what they prefer. We ordered and shared 3 appetizers and 1 entree: beets, harissa Brussels and funeral potatoes with the hanger steak entree served with broccolini. The beets were light and citrusy and would absolutely order again. The Brussels I would pass on but that’s only bc they were fried and the honey came through more than the harissa – was expecting something different. The funeral potatoes were excellent all around and highly recommend ordering. The hanger steak is delicious and portion huge so I’d recommend splitting or sharing or if you’re with a large group this could be a shared “large” appetizer. I’d come back again

i am so incredibly impressed by the love and passion in this little restaurant. from the staff to the curated menu, i was so happy with my whole experience!! my lover and i came in for a valentines set, we had the sweetest server (i think her name was alex?) she is so darling!! along with all the other workers who were there too, everyone was kind and had amazing attention to detail. we had multiple servers come do table touches, the personality of everyone was so vibrant, though of course not too over the top and distracting from our meals. i loved their silly comments throughout the night! anyways, thank you for serving us tonight
