Always Love
This is a very cute restaurant you walk in and it feels calm relaxed and peaceful a great place to go for early dinner or Lunch . While the restaurant is small there are a lot of seating options for party of 2/4 including the bar . I ordered to go the Maccheroni Vodka with an add on of Meatball . The order was ready for pick up when I arrived and the cashier was very nice and welcoming . When I arrived home I was excited to dig in because it smelled so good but unfortunately after the first bite I was extremely underwhelmed . It looked wonderful but the pasta was very mushy in texture (I’d probably suggest cooking To-go pasta closer to al dente because with the type of container which is creat and keeps the food warm it also has a lot of condensation when I opened the lid creating it to probably cook down more . Sadly the sauce was all but tasteless (while again I acknowledge it can easily be that it probably due to the extra moisture of the container ) I just expected more flavor everything just lacked seasoning even the meatball . The vodka sauce imo was more of a strong tomato sauce in flavor than the creamy lifted taste I’m use to in a vodka sauce and the meatball lacked seasoning. While I’m definitely open to trying other things on the menu it will probably be better to try it Dining in rather than ordering to – go.

Love it! Looking for a new place to try for lunch, I came across Nonna Dora. I arrived a few minutes before they opened and was welcomed in by Jordan. She was very friendly and brought me some water. For lunch I chose the grilled chicken over fettuccine Alfredo and a Caesar salad. The pasta was so tender, the sauce was creamy and delicious, and the chicken had a beautiful sear and was perfectly prepared. The vibe was relaxing and I enjoyed my lunch. Jordan’s service was excellent with perfect timing for everything. I’m so happy to have found a new place.

P.S. Don’t take the top off of the pepper grinder and spill peppercorns all over the floor like a dork! Simply put it over your plate and twist.

I am not a fan of Americanized Italian restaurants but the food at Nonna Dora transplanted me back to the time I spent traveling through Italy. The food is delicious and authentic and, as my daughter said, you didn’t feel like you needed to go home and take a nap afterwards. We had the gnocchi, which was pillowy and light, not heavy and dense like it is at most restaurants. We also had the Mediterranean Sea bass, which was delicious and seasoned perfectly with added acidity from kalamata olives and capers. The tomato sauce on each dish was different but light and not overpowering. The terimisu looked and tasted home made. It was a delicious lunch. They also had a Saturday brunch menu which looked delicious. Service was top notch. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

First time trying this locally owned (which I love) restaurant in Sandy Springs. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try! We loved it! The food was amazing! You can tell that every dish is homemade!!! The owner was not there tonight but the manager told us the whole story and we love to see talented chefs opening their own restaurants!!! We had the Caesar salad. Very fresh. Loved the shaved cheese and croutons! Lasagna is my baseline dish for trying a new Italian eatery! This one was great! Noodles were homemade and tender. The bechamel was creamy. Perfectly seasoned. Sorry I didn’t get a before picture. Took one bite and I finished the whole thing!! The Fra Diablo with shrimp was perfectly seasoned! The cannoli and tiramisu was wonderful! Again all made in house. Definitely go and try this restaurant! Service was great too. Wine selection was great too!

Wonderful neighborhood Italian eatery eith a homely menu of delicious Italian staple. The Pesto & Prociutto Pinsa (thin, airy crust) and Lasagna al Fungi (fragrant & loaded with cheese) were our favorites. Definitely coming back to try some other Nonna Dora’s recipes

After traveling in Italy a few months ago I can truly say the taste of the food was as close to true Italian as you can find. I started with the Crostone for appetizer which was absolutely delightful. I had the pesto pasta for my main dish which was just right with a delicious pesto sauce and cooked al dente. You can taste Italy in every bite. The tiramisu for dessert was everything I hoped for. This truly a hidden gem and I definitely plan on coming back for more. Highly recommend!

With more than 25 years traveling to Italy, I can attest this restaurant does an excellent and tasty true Italian cuisine … we enjoyed the il fungi lasagna, vodka pasta, the chicken cotoletta, ragú parpadelle. Nice wine italian selection

Our server Jordan was simply amazing, friendly, made great recommendations.

Nonna Dora’s is truly a gem for authentic Italian cuisine! From the moment we walked in, the inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The pasta was clearly handmade, and the flavors were rich and delicious — just like a home-cooked meal straight from Italy.

We did have an issue where some of the food wasn’t cooked to the correct temperature, but the owners handled it with exceptional care. They immediately addressed the situation and went above and beyond to make things right, ensuring we left completely satisfied. Their dedication to both quality and customer experience really stood out.

If you’re looking for authentic Italian food with a personal touch, Nonna Dora’s is definitely worth a visit. We’ll be back for sure!

I have had the wonderful blessing of getting to visit Italy twice in the last couple of years. I have truly missed the food ever since (and the beautiful landscape and people). This felt like a journey back! I almost felt surprised to look up from my food and remember that I’m in Georgia! My husband and I shared the mozzarella in carrozza, I ordered the maccheroni vodka, and my husband ordered the Diavola pizza (a favorite of ours in Italy). We then shared tiramisu and a cannoli. We both agreed that everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! It felt like the closest we’ve come to true Italian food since our honeymoon in Italy! The restaurant itself was somewhat small and crowded, but it was a sacrifice I was willing to endure. The service was also very nice! I enjoyed my meal very much! To the hard-working people at Nonna Dora, grazie mille!

Nonna Dora is an authentic slice of Italy right here, a surprising place for anyone who loves real Italian food. The quality of the ingredients is outstanding—most of them are imported directly from Italy, and you can taste the difference in every bite. The recipes are 100% authentic, just like what you’d find in a traditional trattoria in Italy.

The pasta is fresh and handmade daily, and it’s honestly some of the best I’ve ever had outside of Italy. You can tell there’s real passion behind every dish.

The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, perfect for a dinner with friends or a quiet date night.
Patrizio, the owner, is incredibly welcoming and genuinely cares about making sure every guest feels at home. He takes the time to check on your table and is always happy to chat about the menu or suggest a great wine pairing.

If you’re looking for a place that serves honest, delicious Italian cuisine made with love and top-quality ingredients, Nonna Dora is it.

Their pasta dishes are amazing and most of the appetizers are the same you can eat in Neaples.

Definitely recommended, but not just one time, you have to try everything of this amazing menu.
I’m Italian and I finally found a piece of home.
