Our favourite little place in Haines. They do great coffee and the people working there are absolutely lovely! I had the Cuban and it was delicious, and the best part was they had really good gluten free bread for my partner! She had the turkey bacon Swiss and it was awesome!

Rusty Compass Coffeehouse is absolutely adorable – one of those rare finds that instantly makes you feel welcome. It’s clearly loved by both locals and tourists, and for good reason. The service is super friendly, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel right at home. The menu is varied with something for everyone, from delicious coffee and specialty drinks to fresh, flavorful food. I had a hard time choosing because everything looked so good! What more could you ask for in a cozy, inviting café? Highly recommended!

We stayed in Haines for almost a week and visited here for lunch and a coffee most mornings.
Friendly and welcoming atmosphere and both food and coffee was fantastic.
Added bonus for me is that they had gluten free bread so I had a choice of sandwiches and a couple of sweet treat choices.

Loved this place! Visited every day I was in Haines. Mocha every time and I got a chocolate chip cookie twice. Staff was super friendly and everything was good. Very accessible if you are anywhere in town.
Internet worked intermittently for me but I read interesting books that were there so not a problem. Be sure to check out the funny coffee bag designs from their supplier as well as the great photography in the back

The place is nice, you have place to sit inside. There’re plugs, but no wifi. The coffee is good, we took cappuccino and americano. It’s a bit expensive compared to other places. The people working there are a bit cold but okay. The cookie was amzing!! So so good. It’s located downtown, so it’s easy to go, and it opens early in the morning.

We’re on an Alaskan cruise and this is the first coffee shop at a port that has had exceptional espresso! I definitely recommend giving it a try!!
