Torn between a 3 and 4. We liked the more casual vibes inside the Chelsea Market. The preset hand roll combos are pretty reasonably priced. We liked the yellow tail and salmon rolls. I would call out that the rolls say a fish but it’s often more of a fish salad flavored with other ingredients that aren’t clearly labeled on the menu so it was sometimes tougher to taste the fish. For example, the lobster hand roll seems to have quite a bit of mayo. The rolls soften quickly so you need to eat them right away. We were often served so quickly that we shad barely finished a roll before we received the next one so the meal felt a little unnecessarily rushed when it was half empty when we were there. I liked the generous wasabi and ginger but you didn’t really need the ginger for the rolls. This restaurant is on the InKind app.

On 09.26.25, was a day to remember! We found this amazing place inside Chelsea market. I give this place 100/100, just wow! From the waiter greeting and sitting us to the food and drinks, I mean just everything. Not only did the food taste phenomenon but the presentation was excellent! It really blew me away!
We ordered yellowtail & leche de tigre and hokkaido scallop & gooseberry aguachile from the ceviches option, wow! The three handroll set which was the salmon, lobster and yellowtail. Our drink of choice was lychee vodka highball and chika sake cup.
Sitting inside of a sushi bar was different because it was my first time and did not know what to expect. It was worth it! Drink and food menu had great choices and can’t wait to go back! I recommend! Thank you guys for a wonderful experience, see you guys soon!

This adorable restaurant, located at the entrance of Chelsea Market on 10th Avenue, serves mouthwatering hand rolls. I visited on a weekday evening, and the service was prompt and friendly.

The food was simply incredible. I ordered four hand rolls, which came to about $61, making each roll approximately $15. Each roll was a delight, with my personal favorites being the wagyu (which was incredibly delicious), scallop, fatty tuna, and spicy octopus.

The rolls arrived quickly, so you won’t have to wait long for your order. This makes it an excellent choice for a quick weeknight dinner. However, I imagine the restaurant gets busier during the weekends. The waiter was very helpful in guiding me through the menu and suggesting a few rolls. I’m definitely planning to return and try the entire menu in the future!

Love the roll set so much!! The fish and lobster in it tasted really fresh and the roll had a well balanced flavor. The rice was perfectly cooked as well.

I was just here yesterday and i have to say the whole experience was great. Our host was very patient with our questions as we were hesitating to eat there. I wasn’t able to get her name but the hostess with the locs/glasses was very sweet and patient as well as the cooks everything came out efficiently and delicious. We had gotten a few drinks as well which were delicious. Definitely will be coming back again!

This is my FAVORITE onigiri ANYWHERE!! I get so nervous it’s not open when I’m in the area but 9 times out of 10 it’s open, thank God. It’s super easy to order with the staff or on the kiosk – there’s 3 kinds of onigiri for $5 each. I love the tuna mayo one and the salmon roe one, and I’ve never tried the plum. I’ve never tried the kaikigori or the handroll bar either lmao just the onigiri!

Onto the onigiri itself – they are made to order, and the rice is warm and fresh and amazing. They are generous with the filling and it’s packed pretty loosely so you gotta be careful not to drop any of this goodness. They do have sporks in case you wanna avoid a mess and napkins as well. I usually just eat it on the spot. They are so good! 10/10 recommend!

Very good, fresh fish. I ordered a set of four hand rolls, which were all very tasty. The pacing was a little too fast, but that’s minor. Prices for the sets were pretty fair. I skipped getting a highball and went with a beer because the price seemed a bit high. All in all a very comfortable counter with good food. I would come back for sure.

Maki a Mano delivers exactly what you’d expect from a straightforward neighborhood sushi spot – fresh, well-prepared rolls in a no-frills environment that prioritizes quality over flashy presentation. The restaurant’s clean, minimalist aesthetic creates a calm dining atmosphere where the focus remains squarely on the food.

The sushi menu covers all the classics with consistent execution. The fish tastes fresh, the rice is properly seasoned and at the right temperature, and the rolls are tightly constructed without being overpacked. While you won’t find innovative fusion creations or premium omakase options here, the fundamentals are solid and satisfying. The portions are reasonable for the price point, making it a reliable choice for a casual sushi craving.

Their beverage selection deserves a mention, particularly the draft Suntory Premium Malt’s, which pairs beautifully with the clean flavors of their sushi. The crisp, refreshing beer complements the meal without competing with the delicate fish flavors – a thoughtful touch that shows attention to the overall dining experience.

Maki a Mano occupies that comfortable middle ground of being consistently good without being extraordinary. It’s the kind of place you’ll appreciate for its reliability and cleanliness, perfect for a quick lunch or casual dinner when you want quality sushi without the premium price tag or lengthy wait times. While it may not become your new obsession, it’s definitely a solid neighborhood option that gets the job done well.
