Having lived in London for a full year a number of years ago, I developed a deep appreciation for afternoon tea. I have enjoyed countless teas throughout the years and have concluded that Val’s is the gold standard on both sides of the Atlantic! Everything about this tea shoppe is top notch from the gracious hosts, the beautiful China, the flavorful tea, sandwiches, scones, savories, and sweets….this tea haven exudes pure elegance.
Sharon and Jon are wonderful hosts and do a great job making their guests feel genuinely welcome, relaxed, and well cared for. Each time that l’ve had the pleasure of visiting their tearoom I’ve thoroughly enjoyed a peaceful and delightful respite. Before we’ve finished our delicious tea, savories, and sweets, we’re already planning our next return. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Such an incredible experience!
My husband and I had a truly lovely time at Val’s English Tea. As someone who is gluten-free, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but we were absolutely blown away by the variety and quality of the offerings.

The gluten-free selections were phenomenal, from the beautifully prepared sandwiches and scones to the pumpkin bread, cookies, and more. Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and made with care.

The tea options were equally impressive, and we loved learning about the history behind the establishment and the tradition of English tea itself. The entire experience was warm, welcoming, and delightfully authentic.

The owners, a husband and wife team were incredibly kind and attentive. The attention to detail, both in the decor and in the curated offerings (including imported jams and other English delicacies), made the entire visit feel special.

We felt so well taken care of and can’t wait to return. I’d absolutely recommend this gem to anyone looking for a heartfelt, delicious, and memorable experience.

I visited Val’s yesterday with my cousin and our moms, and we had the most wonderful experience. The atmosphere was inviting, the food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. They graciously accommodated a last-minute dietary request without hesitation and made our group feel truly special. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve been to Val’s three times now and I’ve been impressed every single time. The place is unassuming in a quiet strip mall but the venue is decidedly British- in the best way possible. Sharon and her husband are wonderful hosts and always make me feel like I’m spending some time in London itself.

Sharon will come around and talk about the history of tea and how to go about eating the courses.

As for the food itself she has multiple teas to choose from and each party member has their own pot. You’re given a sausage and apricot pie, four different tea sandwiches, two scones with jam and butter, and four different sweets. All of Sharon’s food is amazing and you can definitely taste the quality and love she puts into her craft.

While it’s not cheap the price is definitely worth the amount of food you get and the experience is everything. I highly recommend Val’s!

What an awesome place! I lived in the UK for 5 years and this afternoon tea was better than all the ones I had there. The service was great and the food was plentiful and delicious. You will leave full. It was also superbly decorated with more tea pots than I’ve ever seen in my life.

Val’s is the best tea place I’ve been to! And as someone who’s gone to multiple tea shops, that’s saying a lot! The owner, Sharon, is such a wonderful host. She takes the time to go through all the offerings and makes extra strides to accommodate dietary restrictions. I’ve had my birthday there due to how fun and how good all the food is!

Her husband also helps out and he spent time talking to our table when he found out we worked at the same company! They are such a lovely couple and the service is unmatched! I cannot wait to go to Val’s again for tea and sandwiches!

We have been for afternoon tea at Val’s several times over the past few years, and it’s magical every time we go. The food is incredible (all the tea foods). The baked things are especially scrumptious and exciting! We often grab things to go as well.

In addition, the atmosphere is so relaxing and beautiful. Sharon and Jon are so welcoming, funny, and kind. I also love picking up English candies and other treats while we’re there too!

I’m always looking for new places to have Afternoon Tea, especially since the vibe and food can differ drastically based who owns the shop. So when I happened upon Val’s English Tea & Pie Shop I decided to convince a small group of friends to go!

We arrived about 10 minute’s early for our 2:15 time and were sat down. The table was still done up for Christmas, and everything was set up beautifully. I really loved the atmosphere, it felt cozy as it flurried outside. Then we were given cards from one of the owners, I believe his name was John, and he gave a brief explanation on the tea, explained the unlimited refill policy, and on what to do since we hadn’t been before. (He also took a group picture of us on request at the end of the service! Thank you!)

I choose the Winter Spice and really loved it. But the Buttermint ended up being my favorite.

Once we ordered our tea and drinks and the food was brought out Sharon, the other owner, came and gave us an explanation on the name of the shop, how to have a proper tea. She was incredibly sweet explaining each and every item and once we dug in, I was really pleased to say everything was incredibly delicious!

The sandwiches were decently sized, and the freshly baked meat pie was savory. The scones and desserts were magnificent, and I was happy to try things I hadn’t had before. The mousse was a great cherry to add on top of the experience.

Compared to the price of other shops, Val’s has become one of my favorites based on the quality, customer service and amount of food. They do offer take out boxes if you don’t end up finishing, which was extremely appreciated.

Will come again!

Welcoming as you opened the door. It is not a large space but very comfortable.
The tea list was great! Decaf and caffinated. The food was amazing. Finger sandwiches, scones, sweets oh yea! You will not leave hungry.
They had Guinness Beef Pies for sale today too. I got 2 of them for tomorrow. So excited!
A great way to spend a few hours with friends and family.

I had my baby shower here with about 35-40 guests and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Sharon and her husband (owners) were so accommodating and went above and beyond in helping us decorate for the occasion! The shop is absolutely adorable and the food is super tasty and filling. I highly recommend this venue if you are looking to host a shower or just have tea with the girls! Huge thank you to Sharon and her Family! I will be back for tea with baby soon 🙂
