Finally a great authentic Mexican restaurant in Cedar! YAY! It took me a while to finally try it, but I cant wait to go back now. The tacos were AWESOME! They load them up with meat for sure! Had beef and chicken. They make their own salsas which are amazing too! And of course cant go wrong with rice and beans on the side. YUMMMMMM

Its like the food wants to be good. But such a lack of flavor. My enchilada was deep fried and it was so hard I had to take the shell off and just eat the inside. So dry too. We should have read reviews before coming in. Now I totally understand all the negatives. They are true. Bland food, very dry and mediocre service. I dont think we will try again.

The food here may look simple, but the flavor is phenomenal! The steak and chorizo wet burrito was packed with flavorful and fresh ingredients and will be one of the most memorable I have eaten!

I’ve loved this place since they opened. My daughter recently turned 21 and requested tacos as her birthday dinner. The staff was amazing at helping cater this birthday party for me. They stayed in contact, were very reasonably priced and the food was amazing. 10/10 all the way around. Definitely recommend them for everything.

Food was exactly what I needed. I got a wet burrito and I dont know what kind of cheese/queso is put in top of the burrito but I need it pumped through my blood. Oh my gosh, it was so good. Also the horchata . I wish that I got the 32oz instead of the 16oz. It was much different from some other ones I’ve had. I think maybe there was nutmeg in there? Idk, but whatever it was made is so delicious.

I order takeout through the phone and the person who took the order was extremely kind. Then when I went in to grab my order, the cashier was talkative and excited to be there. It wasn’t a lot, but enough that I felt good after I left.

Although I wasn’t inside for long, the atmosphere felt lacking. Or more so empty. I think the coloring and white was fine and made it look fresh. However there was a lot of empty space that I think would look a lot better if it was filled.

I ordered tamales from this place and what I received was absolutely unacceptable. The tamale was a soggy, undercooked mess watery, falling apart, and barely edible. It looked more like raw dough than a finished dish. I’ve included a photo so you can see exactly what I mean….
I called the restaurant immediately, and they told me they’d fix it. That never happened. No follow-up, no refund, no accountability.

This kind of quality and customer service is inexcusable. I won’t be ordering from here again, and I suggest others think twice.

Picked up a take out order , two meals, Crispy tacos, after eating at the location on Plainfield I was excited to have a location near me. The Barbacoa tasted bland, old, and was extremely dry, the lengua wasn’t any better, it was also bland and dry, the portion of rice and beans that finish off the meal was downright insane, two or three bites and it was gone. The rice had very little flavor, the beans were ok, probably canned im guessing.
I was extremely disappointed . Spent $30.00 i wish I had back.
Not going back , would not recommend

On the fifth day of the fifth month, I embarked on a festive quest for the quintessential Cinco de Mayo experience at Tacos El Cuñado Cedar Springs. With a craving for culture and a hunger for authenticity, I ordered a feast fit for a fiesta: five tantalizing tacos.
The Mexican Trio: Three traditional tacos, each a harmonious blend of vibrant flavors, wrapped in a warm embrace of soft tortillas. The first bite was like a mariachi band serenading my taste buds – a symphony of spices and the freshness of cilantro playing the lead. These weren’t just tacos; they were edible odes to Mexican culinary craftsmanship.
The Gringo Duo (my words, not theirs): Two ‘white people tacos’, as I whimsically dubbed them, offered a familiar comfort with a twist. They were a nod to the classic, yet with a zest that whispered tales of distant lands. Each mouthful was a mellow fiesta, a gentle samba rather than a full-blown carnival, but delightful all the same.
As I indulged, a sense of gluttonous glee overtook me. With each taco, I felt my pants protest, but my spirit yearned for more. These weren’t mere morsels; they were gateways to gastronomic euphoria, where every bite beckoned me closer to a siesta in a hammock strung between two palm trees.
Looking forward, I envision a future where my adventures at Tacos El Cuñado expand beyond the taco horizon. I’ll dive into the depths of their menu, exploring new selections, perhaps even daring to double the taco tally.
So here’s to Tacos El Cuñado, where every Cinco de Mayo can be a day of delicious discovery, and every taco is a ticket to taste bud paradise.

Disgusting far cry from any authentic cooking. The barbacoa was inedible, spit it out . It was dry old and tasteless like an old boot. The salsa was trash, I won’t be going back. Would have gotten more bang for my buck and a better interpretation of mexican food if I had gone to Taco Bell.
