My first time going to The Grocery Kitchen and Taproom the food was absolutely amazing. Me and my mother both got the chicken piccata and shared the fried pickles and when I say that’s the best I’ve ever had it really was good. I’ve had fried pickles at other restaurants and they’ve always been greasy and paper thin, those were not greasy and the voodoo sauce was spicy but really good so if you don’t like spice, just don’t dip it in the sauce, but the pickles by themselves are still good. Definitely going back again soon.

We have fallen in love with the St. Andrew’s area of Panama City, Fl. We have also fallen in love with The Grocery Kitchen and Taproom. The food is out of this world. The creativity of dishes is unique and wonderful. Everything that I have had so far is perfect. This is a quaint long bar similar looking to a shot gun style business. Long from the front to the back. The Beautiful bar is warm and inviting. You will see locals stopping in to watch a game or event but it’s not noisy like most places. It’s a quaint atmosphere that is warm and inviting. There is also a separate room that has seating for those that don’t want to eat in the bar area which is great for families and small groups. Out the back door you will find a lovely eating area with tables and chairs. There is also a narrow stage along once side for entertainment. Also in another section is a covered area with a bar that looks like it would be used for busy nights or events. We have found the most wonderful bartender named Rusty. We felt like we have known her forever and she is amazing. She as a gift for listening and learning what your take on food or drink so she can make it special to fit you. We are huge fans of Rusty and so happy we met her. She takes wonderful care of us and it’s like hanging out with a forever friend. Now the food!!! WOW!!!! Everything tastes like heaven. I have been loving the Drunken Shrimp, The Sweet and Spivey Brussel Sprouts. Deserts that are my favorites are Sisters Famous Fried Strawberries and Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Parfait. Rusty also serves up the best cocktails. The Grocery also has menu’s for the kids both human and furry. Dogs are allowed but I have only seen quite well behaved pups and just one or two. This is the type of place that makes you feel at home in the neighborhood.

Hands down our favorite brunch spot in St. Andrews!

Breakfast Kitchen and Tap Room totally gets it—amazing food, even better drinks, and they roll out the red carpet for your pup, too!

Let’s talk mimosas: so many flavors and incredible specials. And the Bloody Marys? Unbelievable! Stacked with shrimp, pickled okra, and all the goodies—it’s basically a meal in a glass.

But the real surprise star? Their bacon chocolate beignets with pecans. I didn’t know bacon and chocolate could make such magic together, but WOW. Sweet, salty, nutty—completely addictive.

And did I mention it’s dog-friendly? My pup had her own menu (yes, a DOG MENU!) and got treated like royalty. You’ll spot other dogs lounging in sunglasses like they own the place. It’s just the coolest, most relaxed brunch vibe.

Whether you’re local or just visiting, this place is a must for brunch lovers, dog people, and mimosa fans alike. We keep coming back—and we’ll keep raving about it! ✨

Stopped in late for dinner. We chose this place because other reviews said they were very dog friendly. We came in with our Pomeranian, sat at a high top in the bar area. Not many people in there when we arrived but it filled up in no time. Rachel the manager came over and greeted us, she was so friendly and personable. We told her it was our first time in and she gave us great recommendations on the menu. She even brought our dog a little ribeye steak treat.

Redfish Pontchartrain – Delicious
Smoke show burger – Very good
Wasn’t sure how it would be by the look of it, but it was very good!
Swamp Soup – Delicious
Side of hush puppies – Good
Crumbled into the swamp stew like another reviewer suggested. Yum!

A gentleman brought our food out and came to check on us and our drinks and he was also very nice.

They have a really nice out door seating area that is lit up with strings lights at night, that makes it look very quaint.

Everyone we encounter was friendly, chatted with the group next to us for a bit and then another patron came up and started chatting with us and told us how wonderful the Sunday brunch is. We really wanted to go back for that but didn’t get a chance.

We will definitely be back.

This is a much do brunch spot. Easy lot or street parking. Old building, bar and patio are a vibe. Short wait for table of 6. Got two champagne buckets. Shared the hang over fries. I got the smothered chicken and biscuit; soooo good! And finished sharing the bourbon bacon pecan beignets (wow). For real, this is a much go. Perfect brunch spot.

Wow! The Sticky Toffee Bread Pudding is the star of the desserts. So delicious! The blue cheese is a very good blue cheese dressing. The burger is cooked to perfection, the blue cheese dressy is yummy. The chicken fried chicken is delicious, the gravy is light and perfect on the chicken and mashed potatoes.
The brisket fries is good just as an entry, you may not to share because they are so good. We sat in indoors but there is outdoor seating too. The smothered hamburger steak cooked perfectly and tasty. The Alfredo is delicious, a huge serving. The drunken shrimp is yummy, so yummy, I forgot to take a photo. Fun decor, a former Piggly Wiggly grocery at one time.

Wow! We came for the fried strawberry dessert (which is ahhhmazing) but the place, the the service, the food…we will be back. Will have to try the Swamp Soup one day! The parfait and the fried strawberries were both excellent. Teens, parents and grandparent approved! Yum!

I’ve eaten here a few times now and it’s always great! Sandy is the best, she makes you feel like an old friend. It’s very dog-friendly and the food is delicious. Try the fried strawberries, trust me! The Brussels sprouts, Diablo shrimp, pastalaya, and everything else we’ve had is all delicious!

It is true. They do have the best burgers in town. Looks like a little dive., but fantastic staff, and local regulars. I’ll definitely be back.
