THIS PLACE IS NOT GOOD. I ordered the pepper steak combo. I got Lo Mein instead of rice. They gave me a ton of poorly cut green peppers and onions and about 6 pieces of steak. They charged me extra for vegetable lo mein, but there were no vegetables in it. Just plain lo mein. If i were you, i would try any of the other chinese restaurants in that area. I would absolutely never recommend nor go back to this place. 1/10

absolutely wonderful food! i particularly enjoyed the happy family, which is a mix of chicken, shrimp, beef, mushroom and corn, as well as the house lo mein! the staff is friendly and welcoming too! the location is perfect with ample parking, and is in proximity to many things, making it highly accessible and convenient. i can’t wait to dine here more and make this my regular chinese take out!

The main lady who cooks and takes the orders has a serious attitude problem from the beginning. She always frowned at me and I never did anything wrong to her. Despite the fact that their food is mid grade, I’ve tried speaking San. Hello, thank you. Still no response from her. It’s like she was going out of her way to not be courteous with that’s cool. Some people are cold like that.
I asked her one time. About the ingredients because I don’t like onions. She starts yelling and getting defensive saying it’s a vegetable i’m like, okay, calm down… Who in their right mind with support of business? Like that. Only thing I could ever stomach was shrimp in broccoli, and the shrimp always had this doughy. Slimy substance

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the chicken. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was calm and inviting. It wasn’t crowded at all, so we had a really good time.

All I can say is Awesome! As I have been eating here for the past 15 years. Wow, I guess I’m also dating myself. Anyway, the food has always been good and always healthy. The owners are very proud people and over the years I have seen their children grow up and now they also assist in the family business. All I can say is keep up the great work.
Well let me get going to finish up my lunch and also enjoy that fantastic sweet tea.
Thank you for being a part of Newark Delaware’s Community.

If you’re looking for the gold standard of crispy tofu, look no further than No. 1 China. Their tofu is everything you want it to be: perfectly golden on the outside, with a satisfying crunch that gives way to a tender, flavorful center. The sauce clings to each piece just right—bold, savory, and slightly sweet without overpowering the tofu’s natural texture.

What impressed me most is consistency: every bite is crisp, not soggy, and the portions are generous. Paired with fresh broccoli and fluffy rice, it’s a balanced dish that feels both hearty and clean. I’ve had tofu from countless places, but this version stands out as the kind you crave again and again.

No. 1 China proves that tofu and vegan food can be a star on its own. Absolutely worth a visit if you’re a tofu lover—or even if you think you’re not!

Besides the General Tsos Chicken everything else was just OK. Definitely on the milder side.

Never again. I have tried this place a few times and always regret trying it again. I always get the Healthy Shrimp and this is the worst tasting shrimp ever and mushy.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had, and I eat Chinese about twice a week. Couldn’t even eat my meal, threw it away after a few bites.

Their fried food all tastes like dirty oil and is extremely greasy. The sweet and sour “shrimp” were dime sized bits of dry shrimp wrapped with tons of overcooked, slimy breading. The “house special fried rice” was off the shelf yellow rice with precooked diced ham and frozen veggies mixed in. The spring roll tasted like rotten seafood. The restaurant also forgot three shrimp rolls and did not care that the order was wrong.

If you want Chinese, any other place in Newark is better than this. I was excited to try a new place, but I would never order from here again.
