Ate a Frog Pond for 1st time. Place is very cluttered with STUFF sitting everywhere…. not what I expected for a business! A long haired, long bearded man came over to us… we had no idea who or what he was??? We told him this was our 1st time here… so he told us to sit anywhere we wanted and went to get menus. He came back with dirty paper menus. A lady took our order. After a long while our food was brought out. We had breakfast…scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy. The hashbrowns were homefries which tasted like OLD GREASE! Bacon fried xtra crisp. You get the feeling this is a local greasy spoon restaurant!!

Never been to this place before. Very unprofessional service, no menus, was told I could either order from the “invisible menu” or get the “buffet”. I chose the “buffet” and no direction was given on what to do. The food was not that great, I can’t even say the food was mediocre it was that undesirable. I find out later it isn’t a buffet at all. So the use of the word buffet is definitely being used improperly. Had to wait forever for a refill of my drink. Then asked for silverware to eat the dessert it came so late I already had gotten a replacement myself. Then I had to ask other customers do I pay the server or do I get a check to pay somewhere else. It also was that clean of an atmosphere. I was not the only customers with issues at least three other costumers had problems. Someone woman tried to give me an excuse to why this establishment was being handled this way. Which first rule is you never makes excuses for your business to a unhappy customer. Also wasn’t offered anything for the inconvenience. I will not be returning to the place ever again. Maybe people in the town is used to this type of service but I am not. Never experienced such in my life.

I do not recommend this place if you are visiting. Wish I could tell you about the food, but we ended up leaving because of the terrible service. Came in around 1pm, the restaurant was cute and clean. There was 1 gentleman in there finishing up his meal. Other than him, we were the only ones there to eat. We sat down and the lady at the register brought us menus and disappearednInto the back. After waiting for 15 minutes we ended up leaving. No one ever came out to take our order or acknowledge us
I was super disappointed in the lack of service here. When I’m traveling I try to support local businesses and restaurants but this one needs to seriously re evaluate their customer service.

This is for people that knows what Jay’s in Monticello was, y’all nostalgic. Jay’s is the first thing that popped in my head. Everyone is friendly. First time hubby n I have been here so the only thing I can recommend is the roast beef po boy!
