Come dine at Sunset Thai and dine on delicious Thai food in absolute silence. You can hear a pin drop between bites. The food is very good, and I truly want to support mom-and-pop spots, but some ambient music would go a long way in easing the atmosphere. The experience feels a bit like eating dinner at a friend’s house where the food is great, but the room is uncomfortably quiet and conversation comes in abrupt bursts. That said, I do like the new décor, and the quality of the food is undeniable.

Absolutely obsessed with Sunset Thai On Sunset.
The flavors are bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced — every bite tastes authentic and made with care. The portions are generous, the atmosphere has that classic Sunset Blvd energy, and the service made us feel genuinely welcome overall. Whether you’re craving noodles, curry, or something spicy, this spot seriously delivers. Already planning my next visit…easily one of my go-to Thai spots in LA!

My visit here my sister it okay food …so my mother & I tried it out..first I noticed as we got a table was a dirty floor from the night before. It looked like they never sweep & mop the floor at closing time.. we where the first customer’s for lunch at 11″30am.. but was good & fresh but a little sweet..service was a little slow like they show up 15 mins before unlocking the door’s..

I wasn’t sure I had done a review about Sunset Thai then I realized I only did a tik tok post. Better late than never. They have a good assortment of dishes as you can see from the video I’m sharing but I really enjoyed the Garlic Shrimp and Salmon. It was super delicious and that’s my recommendation. You can mix it with the salmon fried rice. This spot is family owned and the matriarch is such a sweet lady I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area and hungry. I love a welcoming spot. The ambiance is also nice. Mood lights etc. i parked on a meter and forget to ask if they have additional parking so I’ll assume it’s just metered and yes it’s Hollywood area so finding parking is what it is.

We went there late in the night at around 11:00 I think the place closes at midnight. So it was pretty empty but it was also pretty cool and chill.
I like the vibe and the ambiance very chill out and very casual. I also really like the decor which provides a very relaxing ambience to dine and eat.
We got a fried rice with broccoli and oyster sauce and also garlic noodles. I think garlic noodles was an extra they provide good portion but I totally loved their food. Their iced tea was a good quantity.
I would definitely come back again

This is the worst Thai place in the entire LA county. Not only you will wait for more than 30 minutes to get your bowl of rice while being THE ONLY CUSTOMER, but the food itself is absolutely disgusting, soggy and tastes awful. Once I went to the counter to ask what’s wrong with it I saw cockroaches running in the kitchen area!!!!! How is this place still operating??? And the employees are extremely rude and unprofessional. They just don’t care. I’m not surprised at all I was the only one inside. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, TERRIBLE SERVICE. NEVER GO THERE!!!!!!

Stopped by Sunset Thai and immediately understood why the place was almost completely empty. The entire restaurant was packed with delivery drivers — easily eight or more — taking up all the space and making it impossible to have a normal dine-in experience.
On top of that, the front desk guy was extremely arrogant and unpleasant. No greeting, no basic courtesy, just an attitude that made the whole visit uncomfortable. With service like that, it’s no surprise the dine-in area is empty.
Definitely not a place I’d return to. There are plenty of restaurants that actually care about their customers.

I had a store next to this restaurant for a few years and ate here often, it’s the best Thai food I’ve ever had, l often compare all Thai food to Sunset Thai and nothing compares. I miss this place really! It’s been maybe 5 years since l’ve been as l’ve moved out of the state, but think of it often and fondly.

If I could give less than one star, I would. This place used to be my favorite before things changed around. They are cheap with the food, horrible customer service, rude, and overall terrible experiences in the last few visits. I ordered vegetable curry, it came with four small slices of potatoes and four small carrots, when I called to tell the girl she was very argumentative and very rude interrupting, nonstop and at some point aggressive. I asked to speak with the owner. She said you will never talk to her and she will not do anything for you. In the past they burned the wonton, this time when I asked the girl if I could order wonton, will she make sure they would not be burned, she said no, I’m not sure if it will come out good, I will just take it out of the order. Some of you might say that this should’ve been a sign not to order but I simply gave them the benefit of the doubt since I’ve been going there for years. Unfortunately, they stiffed the money and they gave me very bad food.
they have always been overpriced, it was OK when the food was good, but it’s not the case anymore.
Avoid this place at all costs. Unless, of course you’re looking for a very bad experience. After sifting the vegetable curry, you can see in the attached pictures the 4&4 carrots and potatoes I got in a large vegetable curry order.
