I ordered 3 times at Chez Lama and never disappointed. Food is on point, taste delicious. I’m glad we have at least one Haitian restaurant here in Nashville. Sometimes when I don’t feel like cooking I know where to go.

I placed an online order for another company (I won’t mention their name) at this location, and upon arriving, the company left a sign on the window saying they wouldn’t be there for three days. The owner (Chez) was dropping off another order at the front, and he noticed I had been waiting for a while. He offered to bring me a plate (free of charge), and even accommodated my dietary restrictions (Vegan). Chez was very sweet, professional, and respectful. The food was amazing, and I truly wish I could give more stars. You have a customer for life. Thank you

Moved from Florida to Clarksville a month ago. Was in the mood for pate Korde, and the closest Haitian restaurant was Chez Lamar in Nashville. My first time buying pate Korde there and I was very impressed. I bought 3 pate aranso (smoke herring) and 1 chicken. One of the cook came to help cause I wasn’t familiar with using their kiosk. The pate was the right size, very tasty, the right seasoning and spice, and not greasy (compare to others I’ve had). I will definitely drive back down there for some more pate and other dishes.

The food was good! Ordered their vegan Haitian legumes and fried plantains (green).

The food was tasty. I was in the mood for some cooked food that I didn’t make myself

Lamont (very warm) gave me two of their sauces to try.

One is epis-very chlorophyl rich.
The other was pikilz (sp)-spicy contains habaneros with a little tang.

I mixed the two together and ate it with the rice. This elevated the rice and beans.

The stew that accompanied the rice and beans was yummy, reminded me of babaganoush, a bit, in consistency and flavor.

The plantains were fried just right and tasted better than any plantains that I have bought before.

This is a takeout spot through Midtown foods. Ordering was on screen, no waitstaff however the menu and process was pretty straightforward.

This was my first time here. I was looking forward to sitting down in an atmospheric location so I was a bit disappointed with the setup.

Would definitely recommend.

Oh I ate a lot before I thought to take a picture. Very filling.

We should have known as soon as they said they didn’t have pork (griot) that we should have never continued placing our order. The restaurant owner called us back to ask if wanted chicken legs or thighs. However, we ended up with wing dings. She stated that it is because we were from Massachusetts she gave us 6 wing dings. I wonder what is the regular order of the Fritay chicken platter? The food was mediocre. There wasn’t any instructions provided regarding being a ghost kitchen. Overall, the service, food and experience was awful. Truly disheartening as a fellow Haitian!

Great food! Great atmosphere!! One of the chef accommodated my family well. We enjoyed every thing we order, plus we ended up ordering more after we tasted the food. We will be back soon!!

Advertised as a restaurant but it was located in the ghetto under a bridge. I was visiting first time from Alabama and taken aback. We ordered $72 worth of food while driving and was quoted 15 minutes. Our drive was 30 mins and upon our arrival after 30 minutes, we were taken to the hood under a bridge w railroad tracks and potholes. We saw the building and upon entering it wasn’t a dine in restaurant but a pickup hub for not only Chez Lama Haitian Cuisine but several other restaurants with vending lockers to pickup your food or place an order. There’s a big window where you can see others walk past to drop off food to the lockers.

We waited about 45 minutes before it clicked that it’s been almost an hour when we had already given them 30 minutes plus the 45 mins. We asked a lady passing by to get someone from Chez Lama and she said “she’s coming” and the lady never came.

My husband then called the restaurant number and received voicemail. He called again and the lady answered stating she’s making the rice and 10 more minutes passed of waiting. We called back, no answer. I was highly livid. We called back again and asked for a refund at this point, they said no one could help but a 3rd party would contact the restaurant and assist me..I explained that’s not very reassuring as I’m visiting from out of state, the lady won’t come speak to us, and it’s been over an hour of waiting and it doesn’t take 1 hour to make rice. We left and the lady finally called back stating she she’s refund us and give us the food for free due to wasting our time.

So food was good but if recommend ordering more than 1 hour ahead of time, do not think you’ll be dining in because it’s a pickup place, have someone who speaks Haitian Creole like my husband because she couldn’t communicate in English with me, be prepared that you may be out of money or receive wrong order like others who were also waiting and be told “I don’t work for them, sorry contact the business.

Coming from Texas visiting this area. Food ordering was so different. You walk in there’s a kiosk to order your food from a choice of restaurants. From a kiosk. A big surprise to me. I didn’t expect that. Anyhow I didn’t know how to order from the kiosk smh shame on me. Anyhow I contacted the restaurant my choice of course was Hatian food .. I contacted the restaurant for hatian cuisine. The gentleman came out just to help me use the kiosk & order my food . I also didn’t know no cash is acceptable so he took my cash. I was a little worried about that . But he was honest made our delicious food and brought it out to us. He was so polite. His name was Lawa . A big big thank you. If I ever visit the area again I would definitely return… 10 stars

I was visiting Nashville and of course I had to find food from the motherland. Today was a treat because Majorie was making an amazing soup which was fantastic. She was gracious enough to give me a sample which outstanding as if I was transported back to Haiti
