My dad and I were passing through Bluffs, IL today and saw the quaint little diner, Placke’s. We decided to stop and try their food. Not only was the food delicious but the people were friendly and the atmosphere was great! We decided we MUST return soon to enjoy some more of their yummy food.

We were on an adventure and happened upon this place. It was spotless clean, service was great and the food was excellent! It may be 5 miles north of I72 but it is definitely worth the drive.

We stumbled onto this place during a trip — what a great stumble! We shared a huge, tasty tenderloin and cheeseburger – both were great, as were the fries (so many we couldn’t eat them all) and onion rings. And REAL sweet tea!

Hidden in the small town of bluff IL was a tremendous surprise. Great food super clean and home like sit down restaurant.
Pork tenderloin was spiced perfectly. Sweet potatoe fries done to golden brown and lightly salted.

The food is always good. Great selection for a small restaurant. The menu is updated frequently as the owner conduct regular taste testing with their vendors. Ice cream options are well above average. They have a once a month (seasonal) pizza night from a wood fired oven that is extremely popular. Orders should be phoned in well in advance.

Don’t know if they have new people or not but I checked my receipt for a to go order and they tried taking a $ 3.82 tip. Food was good but maybe train the people to use the register. Customers always check your receipts from anywhere this happens a lot more than you think these days.
