I had good experience in this Punjabi food restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere was nice. I went for Brunch and order their Punjabi special Cholay Bhuture, Mooli paratha served with butter and Indian hand made Pickle (Achar), Chollay Bhture was good in Indian Thali served Boondi Yougurt, But Cholly(Chaney) was not cooked propely but Mooli Paratha was amazingly delicious and really loved it. , Desi Masala Chai was brilliant with great taste, it feels like a chai in traditional Overall I had a good experience, Definitely recommend to visit for Breakfast.

A lovely little restaurant serving absolutely 5-star food and service. The butter naan, dal tadka, and kulcha were outstanding, and every starter we tried was truly delicious. Highly recommended if you’re looking for authentic Punjabi flavours!

It’s sad to write this review, as this has been my go-to spot for the past two years. Unfortunately, it seems the standards have dropped significantly.
We came for lunch today, and the food was a real letdown. The chole was completely tasteless, making me wonder if the chef was having a bad day or if corners are now being cut on ingredients.
What truly ruined the experience, however, was the service and lack of hygiene. The waitress was painfully slow, but the worst part was watching her handle food with her bare hands and then clean tables without washing them in between. This is not just poor service; it’s a health risk.
As a loyal customer, I’m genuinely disappointed. I really hope you take this feedback seriously and focus on bringing back the quality and cleanliness you were once known for.

Hands down the best Punjabi food I’ve tasted anywhere in the U.K and that’s saying something after visiting more than 100 Indian restaurants across the country. Every dish was packed with flavour beautifully cooked, and felt like proper home style comfort food. Already planning my next visit.

This place serves the best and most authentic Indian food in Reading. Don’t take my word for it. Go and see for yourself. The Paronthas and the dishes like Mattar Paneer or Aloo Methi are made fresh. Because they are made fresh, there is obviously a preparation time. This is definitely worth the wait. I cannot recommend the dishes enough. If you want something very mild, or medium, they can adjust the level of chillies, which is wonderful and allows everyone to enjoy the food suitable for all. A nice humble atmosphere and proper traditional Indian food, without cutting any corners. Please go and support this independent business and enjoy the flavours of home cooked food.

Kind of over expected the punjabi veg thali.
Taste was good but very disappointed with the items. Only two sides in a meal? Not sure if they forgot to deliver the other items.
Carrot halva felt a bit salty.

When we arrived it was cold inside. They did put heating on eventually. The place is not up market but it was clean. Service was OK, food was traditional, tasty and enjoyable. £70 for three adults and a child. We has 2 x starters, 3 x mains, naans and soft drinks. Overall a good experience. Will come again.

Spicy Chulla is a lovely restaurant with a beautiful outside seating area. The service was really quick and the staff were lovely especially Jaggi! He was very attentive and talked us through the menu options to give us exactly what we wanted. Food was spot on and came out really quickly. The Butter Chicken was delicious and full of flavour! We also had the chilli paneer and gol gappe which were really lovely. The virgin mojito was very tasty with the right amount of zing. We ended the meal with some really good chai which helped refresh us and warm and sweet gulab jamun! I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back. Thank you Spicy Chulla for a lovely evening!

We used to go spicy chula from so long and they changed their chef recently. The food tastes disgusting, Recently we ordered food from spicy chula. They gave us different food and when we complained their chef told us they’re doing experiments on foods and how the customer’s reviews about new things but we ordered food co we like the same food . If they’re trying something new they have to inform the customer so we don’t expect same quality and taste of food .tbh their new chef’s food quality and taste was worse. Customer service’s bad as well we asked the girl for water bottle she don’t know are they serve water bottle or not ( we came on 27 December for dinning in ). Last year the staff was welcoming and food taste good but recently staff and food taste, quality getting worse very disappointing from chef and staff
