During our recent trip to Geneva, my wife and I had dinner at Restaurant de la Cigogne, and it was truly one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in a long time. Located within the refined Hotel de la Cigogne, this restaurant offers a perfect combination of elegance, comfort, and top-tier cuisine.

From the moment we entered, the service was outstanding — warm, professional, and attentive without being overbearing. Every detail was taken care of, and the staff made us feel welcome and well looked after throughout the evening.

My wife ordered the sole meunière, which was cooked to perfection — delicate, buttery, and full of flavor. I had the beef fillet, which was equally impressive: tender, rich, and presented beautifully on the plate. Both dishes were executed with precision and care, reflecting the chef’s dedication to quality and excellence.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was serene and sophisticated, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed, intimate dinner. Every aspect of the evening — from the service to the food to the setting — exceeded our expectations.

We had a nice lunch. I always love a great wine recommendation that goes well with both meals – we had lobster and clam spaghetti. Bread selection was delicious with my favourite being the olive and nut selections. Cheese plate was a nice tasting sample. The butter was beautifully displayed in perfect swirls. We sat inside but the outside seating looked nice of it was a warm sunny day. I didn’t have our children with us but always good to see a menu choice for kiddos. Nice restaurant and experience.

Had a lovely meal with friends at end of our trip, And this is the best meal we had in Geneva. Everything taste fresh, nice detail presentation for each course .pairing with all the local goodies wines. the waiters and the waitress are phenomenal. They are elevating this experience to the top level, when they are almost closing, the staff are still keep nice and professional.

A wonderful experience all around. Lovely and attentive service from the moment we entered the restaurant. Inviting cozy space with the sounds of conversation but not loud at all. Great wine list had the local Cab Franc “Cuve”. Fantastic food from the artichoke starter to the bread and our entrees – sea bass on potato puree with veggies for her and beef filet with spinach and truffled (lightly) potato puree for me. And the desserts! I had the apple tart with honey ice cream and she had a lovely vanilla cream Pavlov – the cream surrounded a mandarin sorbet core and had chestnuts embedded… Pure bliss.

The restaurant, located at the Hotel de la Cicogne, is well worth a visit. The service is great and the food excellent.
During the summertime you can also dine outside, right in front of the Hotel, in a quiet pedestrian square.

The amberjack sashimi was quite good, but the scallop dish could not have been more mediocre. The salsify puree was devoid of any flavor and the scallops lacked a bit of seasoning as well. The orange was the only thing on the plate with flavor so it overpowered the dish a bit. The menu also states there is Szechuan peppercorn present but it was nowhere to be found. 🙁

I cannot comprehend how this restaurant is on the michelin guide for the city unless they only judged the plating instead of tasting the food.
