Very polite and attentive service. We like to find different restaurants when out of town and would come back to this one to try more of the menu!

The restaurant is very well put together. Very nice atmosphere and service was pretty good as well however…our table tried several dishes and they were basic. Meat was moderately or lightly seasoned and the enchilada sauce appeared overly thick and applied sparingly. Appetizer chips appeared and tasted like bag chips, not authentic as hoped.

My wife and I both loved it. The place is beautiful on the inside. The parking lot could use some love, bit that’s just cosmetic. The food was delicious. I had the Burritos Chicago with steak and chicken and just rice and it was both seasoned perfectly and a large portion size. My wife had the chicken fajita quesadilla and absolutely loved it. The margaritas are really good quality, a taste point at a fair price. This place is definitely worth a try. Especially if you’re up north as we don’t have but a handful of Mexican restaurants up here for some reason.

Chill Vibe and great comfort food! What a way to kick off the weekend, great delicious food, and chill music. Service was nice, our waiter was polite, but the food, The Food was phenomenal, prompt and delicious!! We had complimentary chips and mild salsa. We ordered ceviche oysters, beef tacos, a strawberry margarita, mango margarita and some rice, sour cream, w/shrimp and mixed vegetables, although everything was an up charge, it was delicious.

We went on a 45 minute drive because of the reviews. Don’t believe the hype. The food was bland, I had to keep adding salsa to get any flavor in the food. The guac needed more lime, again had to add salsa to liven it up. I asked for pico to give my taco salad some kick and didn’t care for the pico at all. My husband said the beans and the carme asada were pretty good. Service was an issue. I must have heard 5 times “oh I forgot” with regards to bringing out the food. It seems the servers would rather sit, chat with each other and hang at the bar. It wasn’t worth the drive.

Tapatio #2 is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican cuisine in the Northland, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The first thing you notice is the extensive menu—it’s huge, with something for everyone, from traditional classics to house specialties. Despite the wide selection, every dish we tried was clearly prepared with care and packed with flavor.
We started with guacamole and queso as appetizers. Both were fresh and flavorful—the guacamole was creamy with the right amount of citrus and seasoning, and the queso was smooth, warm, and comforting. A perfect start to the meal.
For entrees, we had a great variety: the chilaquiles, Maria Especial, Molcajete Tapatio, and Fajitas Tapatio. Each dish was delicious and came in generous portions. The chilaquiles were bold and spicy, with a great texture and rich sauce. The Maria Especial had a wonderful mix of flavors and proteins, perfect for anyone who wants a bit of everything. The molcajete was a standout—served sizzling hot, full of grilled meats and veggies in a bubbling sauce. The fajitas Tapatio were also a hit, with tender meat and colorful peppers that tasted as good as they looked.
Service was excellent throughout. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick, even with a busy dining room. Whether you’re craving something traditional or want to explore more unique dishes, Tapatio #2 delivers quality and flavor across the board. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu—it’s a Northland gem!

Hands down the best Mexican cuisine in the Northland. I have made the trip here once a week for the last 4 weeks (20 min drive) and I plan to go there for my Mother’s day meal this weekend as well. I have yet to have something I don’t like. The food is flavorful and absolutely delicious. For those of you who think think otherwise, go to your primary care physician, your taste buds are broken. The mango margaritas are the best I’ve had this side of the river. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Anyone that gives this establishment less than 5 stars, I would have to question their credibility.
