Reviews
I sat alone at the bar, which was very quiet, but had a great atmosphere. The sushi chef in front of me watched over the staff like a hawk to make sure when I needed something that I was taken care of ASAP (I assume a perk of the bar) .
I started with a Sapporo beer with the sushi I came for and the chef made it perfectly. It’s a strange combination to many, but to me it reminds me of home. I’m giving 5 stars because of the care this chef put into my sushi. I would recommend solely on his experience.
I ordered the sashimi deluxe which I originally thought 24 pieces for 30$ might feel like a ripoff, but was pleasantly surprised with how full I felt at the end.
For dessert, I ordered both the Yokan (jelly) and the fried green ice cream specifically for this review since I didn’t see any pictures of them. The jelly was definitely interesting and unlike anything I’ve ordered before. The green tea ice cream was just as expected.
I would recommend coming alone or with one other person, but I noticed that groups of four have a great time ordering sushi boats for a decent price between 70-100$ which is pretty good for long island at this time.
Definitely coming again!
Edit: Came again and ordered much more this time, added pictures! It was even better the second time.
Most recently ordered:
Dinner sashimi special and
Half and half roll: Half spicy crab & half shrimp tempura w/ tuna, salmon, fluke, eel, avo on top.
Overall not a bad place but would not go there again
The Sashimi Deluxe Dinner consisted of 24 small pieces of fish placed in a plastic pan without rice. There was only 1 container of soup, although we ordered 2 dinners which were supposed to come with soup. The soup’s container was not properly closed, it spilled in the bag on the way home. We ordered 2 Korean Pancakes, but only got 1. When I picked the food up, the waitress seemed confused about which was my order & showed me a piece of paper with scribbled handwriting I could not read, to verify the order. The only thing I could make out was Chirashi, which was one of the dishes on the order I placed. The note did not have my name on it.
The Chirashi was cramped in a small plastic container & the quality was mediocre. The dinners came with a house salad, which was a small container of chopped greens. We also had a veriety of appetizers which were very small portions.
To sum it up, it was definitely not worth $95.00 and we did not get an itemized receipt, therefore we ate unable to check what we were chargef for.
Hana might be a decent Sushi place to visit, but my advice is, Do Not order take-out.
Good sized portions though.
