Beautifully painted and clean place with plenty of parking. So glad the sidewalk snow was cleared nicely too! Didn’t wait long at all for whiting dinner with extra shrimp greens and Mac. I grabbed a lemon cake also! My mother thoroughly enjoyed every bite!!

Great food and portion size with plenty of options. We stopped by here after our beach trip and were glad we did. Nice staff with great service. I definitely recommend this place.

On Friday, I decided to take a drive to the beach in Asbury Park. After soaking in the ocean vibes, I was craving some seafood. I searched around and came across It Ain’t Just Fish, which had incredible reviews…so of course, I had to check it out.

I ordered the fish dinner, which came with two sides: five pieces of whiting, mac and cheese, and collard greens, all for just $15. Everything was seasoned to perfection! They ran out of yams, but the owner found a few pieces left in the pot and let me try them… absolutely DELICIOUS! I’ll definitely be back. Great food and even better customer service.

I was seriously blown away after eating lunch here after a nice day at the beach. Fantastic service and atmosphere. I felt like I was home, I will always support this amazing restaurant and I want to say Thank you for a great meal.
By the way the banana pudding is to die for wow and I can’t wait to get sea food boil and everything else in the menu soon.

There’s a real reason our ppl businesses don’t thrive. They open late and leave early, there’s no set in place hours of operation. They open late web site gives no clear menu. This irks me to my soul because the food is great except for that time I was served greasy burnt old fries. I spend on average $40 in this establishment every time I visit and customer service could be better, you’re met with hostility from the older female on register. The younger lady is very pleasant. The napkins are the cheapest the ketchup and hot sauce packets are almost non existent. And after spending over $40-$50 they charge and extra $1 for another tartar sauce. The dining room is dark and not set up for inside dining. Great food from lazy workers, all the desserts don’t bother unless you like instant pudding and vanilla wafers. Just skip whatever is in that lil fridge out front near the register. Will I go back? Yes, because the food is just good, to me anyway. Clean up ya act ppl, I wanna see you win not just stay afloat.

We had the whiting fish dinner and it was fantastic and really well-seasoned! My daughter and I tried the fried corn-on-the-cob and really enjoyed it. Our only request is to possibly add some sort of diet soda? Definitely recommend and we plan to go back!

I’m really disappointed with my recent experiences here. For the second time in just two weeks, the restaurant closed early without any notice to customers. It takes only a few minutes to update business hours online or change a voicemail message, and doing so would save customers like me a lot of frustration. I’m not local to the area, so driving all the way there just to find the doors locked is discouraging and feels like a lack of respect for customers’ time.

I did try calling ahead, but the phone is rarely answered, and the voicemail even mentions they intentionally stop answering calls an hour before closing, which clearly doesn’t help when the store closes early without warning. In 2025, there’s no excuse for a business not to keep its hours updated or offer online ordering options through platforms like Uber Eats or Grubhub.

What makes this especially disappointing is that the food is genuinely good, and I want to keep supporting this place. I love backing local businesses, especially Black-owned businesses, but poor communication and inconsistent business practices make it hard to do so. I hope they take this feedback seriously, because with a few improvements in professionalism and technology, this could easily be a standout spot in the community.

I don’t know how to go about this without sounding rude but I ordered Rasta pasta and it was soooo bland. It looked and tasted like Alfredo, I don’t know what happened with the other chef the black guy but food didn’t taste good, there was barely any jerk sauce. I’m disappointed and yall can work on how yall talk to customers on the phone.
