Why Kay Jack: It’s our attention to detail that sets Kay Jack Pizza apart. “Quality ingredients” and “fresh products” are not just marketing terms for us – they’re actually how we do business. Nothing on our menu is that basic, frozen, reheated food served off the back of a delivery truck like you would get at a typical pizza chain. Instead, we have built each recipe on our menu with attention to quality and flavor because that’s how your local pizzeria should do it, right? “Kay Jack has the best pizza in Lake County”. This is something I regularly say when asked about this place, however, the statement isn’t fair. Lake County doesn’t set the bar very high for food in general, let alone pizza. Mostly what you’ll find here is corporate chains. Kay Jack deserves better than to be compared to other pizza joints in Lake County. I would put Kay Jacks against ANY other pizza joints in the state. It is… truly exceptional pizza. It’s not just “good” by the standard of a “Madisonite” who’s never left Lake County. It’s objectively good and could comfortably stand with pizzas from Little Italy downtown.

The dough is homemade and hand rolled. If you can’t “just tell” by the flavor and texture, walk inside and at any given time there’ll be someone rolling dough. The sauce has a tang, a slight spice and hint of sweet. The cheese is real, not that plastic crap you get from somewhere like Zeppe’s.

Overall, im deeply grateful for Kay Jack saving Lake County from mediocrity. In a world of Domino’s, always be a Kay Jack.

I had a friend mention Kay Jack Pizza at work and when I saw the pictures I had to try it. It DID NOT disappoint! We went in and ordered and our pizza was ready in 15 minutes. The service was super friendly and the pizza itself was definitely top 3 I’ve ever had anywhere. Flavor was amazing. We got the cupping peperoni, Italian sausage, banana peppers, and onions with the garlic butter crust finish. Highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back! The only downside was I wish they had tables to dine in….but at the end of the day I’m not to proud to crush a pizza in my car and it won’t prevent me from coming back!

Kay Jack is a little out of the way for us so it’s not our usual but we were so happy with our meatball pizza and salads we carried out Monday, we may have to make more of an effort to support them. The pizza was amazing, done perfectly and the salad was fresh, crisp romaine – no iceberg – and zero wilted or brown pieces which I usually have to pick through about 90 % of the time. Hope to come back soon!

TLDR: It’s great, go buy it, it’s a little more expensive then most places but get over it….. The quality justifies the price point or to support a local business that doing something awesome. Or just buy two medium cheese pizzas for 12 bucks a piece, it doesn’t break the bank.

Wall of Text review:
Pizza snob review, and hopefully Lay Jack’s gets on the One Bite app soon since it’s specifically for pizza.

To start, they had terrific pizza and especially for our area in Madison/Northeast Ohio it’s all fast food pizza or locally owned, high efficiency, medium or low quality pizza available at other places. The cheese melted perfectly and even though we got the pepperoni it was not too greasy. We additionally tried their specially Buffalo pizza and it was very good. The additional garlic butter that they can put on your crust is highly recommended cuz it does add a lot.

The reason I recommend definitely getting garlic butter is mostly tied into my one minor criticism is that the crust is quite large and takes up a lot of the space of the pizza. I’m not sure if the dough / yeast development is causing something to go haywire but the point still stands that I think the crust is a bit much.

To clarify the price discussed from other reviews, Kay jack’s is slightly more expensive than other local restaurants in the area. I even did a quick research because I thought I might have been misjudging. I did a comparison between Brewstreaks, Joey’s/Longo’s, Sammy K’s and Kay Jacks. It is at worst $2 more for normal one topping pizzas and ~$4 dollars more for specialty pizza. It’s not THAT bad of an upcharge for the quality you’re getting.

Kay jack really steps up the game in our local region. If there were other places really emphasizing truly quality Pizza pies I would probably be more scrutinizing but I have to give credit to anyone trying to really produce a high-quality pie in this area. They hit some very high marks.

Just picked up my first order. It was very good!!!! Half sheet pepperoni with extra cheese, Calzone with meatball, mushroom and sausage and cheesy bread the entire family enjoyed. Highly recommend and we will be back on the regular.
update:
So we have been coming back and still even on 1/14 /24 major issues with running out of items. They wont let you secure an order for later in the day even if paying up front, so luck of the draw I guess one of these days I will get to try a sub or mac n cheese. As good as the food is its just not going to be in my top 10 places that will rely on. So good luck everything we have is has been good but………

Their pizza is fantastic! I also love their pepperoni rolls. The entire menu is great, and their service is excellent. They have easy online ordering and great notifications to let you know when your order is ready for pickup. The prices are reasonable, and the ingredients are fresh!

We ordered two pizzas took about twenty five minutes friendly staff service was good. Pizzas were very good I think they could have had a little bit more sauce but everybody else loved them. Thick and good crust fresh vegetables and good quality pepperoni and sausage

Delish! We ordered a half sheet and it couldn’t have been any more fresh than making it at home. The box was steaming in the cold when I took it outside. I especially liked the soft, chewy dough and that it wasn’t overly greasy. Shout out to the cheesy bread and yummy sauce it comes with. Easily a new fave for a sheet pizza. *Special shout out for kind workers and exceptionally clean store.
