My friends and me celebrated Thanksmas – pizza, pool, and presents was this years theme. Having researched the location for an updated menu learned upon our visit Need Pizza no longer carries Cannoli’s; and Crab Rangoon plus Taco Pizzas are either a once in a while special and no longer available.
Also not available is a large pie with two sauces, white and red. So ordered two pizzas with the different flavors.
The white pizza cooled and the crust hardened before finishing it. Moved onto the red pizza which is decent. Being from Brooklyn NY struggle to find compatible pizza. We picked this place for its decent pies and reviews.
The crust cooling and being difficult to chew and for the first time in my life not being able to enjoy the crust to where they were not eaten is why there’s a three star for the food and five for service and atmosphere. Overall four stars.
Skipping white pizza here in the future.

Walking in its very dark, almost dingy, couple of the booth seats looked to be in rough shape. Honestly, I didn’t have high hopes, even with all the recommendations to try this place.
We had great lunch service today, pizza was thin and crispy, right amount of toppings. Ordered a medium that supposedly feeds 2. They make a really large sized pie, we ended up bringing over half of it home.
Meatballs appetizer was very good lot’s of cheese and sauce. A couple of pieces of garlic bread on the side and this would make a good meal by itself.
Overall we’d go back if we’re in the downtown area. Price was under $35 for the two of us.

I hadn’t been to Need Pizza in 6 years and it was just as great as it was back then!
We ordered the small Specialty pizza of the day (you cannot modify it) – and it was a fabulous choice. The blend of the toppings and cheese choices worked extremely well together. The pizza are very large! The small seemed more like a large at other places.
We also tried their breadstick bites appetizer (I don’t think that’s what it’s called) – it came with a side of their red sauce. They had great flavoring, were soft, and a great way to start the meal.
Staff was super friendly and the food came out quickly.

Pizza was alright…nothing bad about it, just nothing to write home about. The price was a bit high, but that seems pretty normal for the area. The service was great though; our server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was chill with plenty of TVs, and the lighting was just right. The beer was good too. Overall, I’d come back.

Best pizza in Cedar Rapids with an awesome rotation of beers. The specials are excellent but you can’t beat a large pepperoni either. A large for two people means you have breakfast and lunch the next day. Always lots of good IPAs on tap and a wide variety of beer styles. Hailey is awesome but all of the staff is great!

In my books it’s a top 3 pizza place for me anywhere in America! The crust is spot on! Thin, crisp and tasty. The sauce is a perfect freshness and natural flavor. I really don’t want the to but this pizza is wort twice what they charge.

Very cool little local pizza joint. In town for a meeting and the hotel recommended Need. I’m glad they did. Had a bbq chicken pizza, all I can say is delicious. Flavors were awesome and the wait staff was on point.

Probably the best pizza place in Cedar Rapids top notch! The pizza was fresh, flavorful, and a pleasing texture of crispy crust! The staff were so polite & the pizza wasn’t too expensive, a large which is HUGE was $18. And the atmosphere where do I start? They had TVs to see your favorite sport, had beautiful paintings and had an Aquarium! I recommend this place if you are finding good pizzerias in Cedar Rapids

I did carryout. It does look like a cool atmosphere inside with a nice selection of beer; Staff were really cool. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza which was average to below average and comparable to something you get in a package at a kid birthday party venue or ballpark.
