The service to start was on point. I had the breakfast skillet which was good. All the food was seasoned well. My son loved the fruity pebbles pancakes and the caramel latte was smooth. The place has great pastries while you wait or grab in the way out. Great spot for family breakfast.

Found hair in our food, and instead of apologizing, staff blamed us, got offended/aggressive, accused us of putting our own hair in food and started an argument. The negative reviews are true, and now we know why. The staff and management were rude, condescending and insulting. Felt some racist undertones and judgment. Very disappointing.
If the kitchen makes a mistake, don’t blame the customers/accuse them of putting hair in their own food. The hair was actually under the food and was only found near the end of the meal.
Mistakes happen, but we’ve never had a manager respond so poorly to one.
The food was also disappointing — it tasted like leftovers.
There are many better diners nearby where the food and service are much better.

Very nice local diner. They serve alcohol and have a great dessert menu. I usually get the chicken Italiano Panini. Update had chicken Caesar salad sandwich – a special. It was very good

**Attention: PEOPLE OF COLOR ARE NOT WELCOME HERE**

Came in for breakfast and requested a booth. An older (maybe 50) male maitre d decided that he deserved to be seated where he wanted to seat us instead. He gave us the most disgusting look I’ve ever seen from a person in service. We kindly reminded him, “hey, we requested a booth”, again, same disgusting look. I was honestly appalled. I’ve never felt so disregarded. We should’ve left but we stayed. I continued to watch his interactions with the other customers who weren’t of color and he was extensively kind, generous, and even sat them in a booth without hesitation.

My family has been here in the past and we’ve seen this guy as he’s usually there on the Saturdays. We’ll never be back again.

After seeing a YT video recommending the Baklava cheesecake, I had to make the trip and try it….and it was well worth it!
My first time here – had a relaxing meal on a nice Sunday afternoon. The Fatty Melt was pretty good. Just my personal preference– wish there was more burger patty ratio with all that grilled cheese taking over. Fries were not too bad. IMO was better when dipped in their gravy. (Good thing I requested some on the side) I thought their gravy was seasoned real nice!

The menu weighs two pounds so you know yiu are in a diner.

Food is Greek style with a touch of clove.

The Beef was super tender with a touch of pink in the open face roast beef.

Soups are spot on as expected.

The Greek salad was Greek.

An excellent spot!

The food was okay but my main concern was the waiter. Our waiter was an older, tall gentleman, but he did not seem nice or welcoming. He set our plates down aggressively and when asking how everything was – he only directed his attention to my husband and not me and did it in passing. I felt very uncomfortable. I wouldn’t return here. there’s an air of racism for sure.

The chicken noodle, tomato sauce, and their Mac and cheese has no taste. The croutons in their salad were soft pieces of bread. Their pulled pork was slathered in bbq sauce and you could barely taste the meat. Overcooked linguini. I had a great experience in the past here, what happened?

My family and I had a great time here. The service was friendly. They gave us the back room which was perfect because we had a lot of people. The food was really good. We got a little bit of everything. The waffles with the cake on top was INSANE, but of course the kids loved it. The dessert from the case was good. But I would suggest taking it to go. Since it was right out of the fridge it was a but tough. It would’ve been great if it were out a little while longer.

The River Edge Diner is exactly what a great diner should be. You’re not coming here expecting a five-star steakhouse experience…and that’s the point. If you want a solid burger and fries, a bowl of soup with a grilled cheese, or a reliable breakfast platter, this place delivers every time.
What truly sets the River Edge Diner apart is the service. The staff works hard, keeps things moving, and treats customers well. It’s not an easy job, and it shows how much effort they put in…so tip your waiters and waitresses accordingly. They earn it.
This is a place I’ve been coming to since I was a kid, and it’s remained a constant over the years. I’ll continue going here as long as they’re open…which, honestly, I hope is forever. A dependable, no-nonsense diner that does what it does well.
