TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Dave’s Hot Chicken was a great experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you’re craving really good hot chicken. The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the spice level was perfect. We tried the Cauliflower chicken and it was really flavorful as well!
What really made our visit stand out was the service. Diana helped us, and she was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. She took the time to answer our questions and made sure we had everything we needed!
Great food and great customer service—thanks to Diana for making our visit so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!

Dave’s Hot Chicken is DELICIOUS!!! The chicken is a high quality product packed with flavor. Dave’s sauce with some honey gave the slider the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The pickle slices served on the side made me happy. The kale slaw was wonderful too. This is a great place to have a delicious meal with family and friends. Highly recommend eating here.

It’s hard to compare it to anywhere, but the chicken is really good quality meat. The breading makes it barely sweet then the savory spices bring it back. It’s just a good experience. Beats any other chicken sandwich I’ve had around! The fries were okay, seasoning on them was good though. The Mac and cheese was great though! Service was great and staff were all very kind!

Dave’s Hot Chicken is the best! Crushes most other chicken tender places. Only close competition for me is Chic-fil-a. Dave’s flavors are amazing, sauce is amazing, and the decor is fun and unique. Love this place, I hope they come to Davis County Utah soon!

I was excited to try this place because I love chicken sandwiches.
It was good but I wasn’t impressed by the food. Though the menu options are awesome! Love the way it’s laid out and easy to read. Plus the pitchers get you excited for your meal.
I ordered the #3 sandwich with a tender. The flavor was good, and biting of the sandwich had a perfect bite each time. My only draw back was the chicken had some kind of seasoning that left a powdery taste in my mouth u didn’t like.
Fries are decent not my favorite.
The service here was amazing and cleanliness!
Also food was cooked to order and came out hot and fresh in a timely manner even though they were busy.

I’ve heard many good things about Dave’s, so I had pretty high expectations. The chicken sandwich was very solid. There’s a big piece of chicken that’s nice and crispy, drizzled with some sauce, on top of some pickles. The sandwich was good but nothing too out of this world. The fries were also nice and crispy and taste really good when dipped in the sauce they give. The price is very affordable and the meal is very filling. The staff were very friendly and the whole place is very spacious with lots of seating! There’s also a lot of parking outside.

I ordered the Dave’s #3, which I think is the right way to go if you’ve never been here before so you can try it all in one meal. I ordered Medium heat, which had a kick but not an overwhelming one. If you enjoy spice, go hotter, but I think it’s an appropriately labeled level. The slider is better than the bare tender. Throw some honey on the chicken for an enhanced experience. The fries are well fried and better than similar competition. Dave’s sauce is nothing to write home about, nor is the slice of bread. The pickles, however, were on the money. My overall problem was with the chicken itself. The batter is splotchy and inconsistent, so you’ll get a mouthful of cayenne and cumin (or whatever they use), and it didn’t sit well for me after I was finished eating. I also ordered a Small Chocolate Oreo shake, and it was excellent. Really good consistency and an appropriate amount of Oreo, so it was money well spent. The Lucky Charm option intrigued me, so if I ever come back I may try it.

It’s a chill and industrial atmosphere here, with indoor and outdoor seating options. It’s a little odd getting to the counter because there’s no clear path to the front, but it would also ruin dining space to add one, so let chaos reign in my opinion.
Overall, I think the available competition in the area is tiers above Dave’s for equal or lesser cost (Houston TX Hot or Pretty Bird are my preferred spots). If I was invited to dine at Dave’s, I’d go, but I would also put a plug in for somewhere else. And I was genuinely hoping to disagree with Joshua Weissman’s opinion on this place.

This place is amazing!
It was our first time here and they definitely didn’t disappoint.
The service was incredible

That was such a nice gesture and we are DEFINITELY coming back!

We ate and still had plenty left over for dinner tonight! Thank you for such great food! They have no spice to Reaper spice levels of chicken. Their loaded fries was enough to feed two to three people. We got the large and it was more like an XL.

How…. in the hell… are people giving this place FIVE STARS?? Either a lot of people have no tastebuds, or they have stock in this place. Three “combo” meals cost us over 50 dollars! Plus, why is it called a combo meal if it doesn’t even come with a drink? The chicken is bland and it is WAY overpriced! Save your money and go somewhere else.
