Bob & Edith’s has become my go-to breakfast spot in DC-MD-VA region after tagging along with my friend four times—it’s his absolute favorite, and I get why.
This 24/7 classic diner nails that nostalgic Americana vibe with retro booths, quick service, and huge portions of homestyle comfort food that hit the spot every time.
We always order their beef steak meal, and it’s spot-on every visit: tender, flavorful, grilled just right. It comes paired with eggs and potatoes the way you want them done. It’s hearty diner perfection that keeps us coming back. The steak comes out satisfying without putting a hole in my wallet.
Pancakes are solid too if you’re mixing it up, but the beef steak is our unwavering pick.
Friendly staff, no frills, just classic Arlington breakfast goodness. Highly recommend!

What a pleasure to eat at Bob & Edith’s Diner on N. Kings Highway!
My server today was Lindsay. She was quick, efficient, and had a natural smile that was warm and welcoming.
I ordered the two eggs with corned beef hash. Food was good and I would definitely recommend that. I had the hash browns smothered with sausage gravy. Had a cup of coffee that I never saw the bottom of the cup because it was constantly refilled by Lindsay.
I would highly recommend this place to any and everybody. Make sure
that you ask for Lindsay and she will make sure that you have the best service in Alexandria.
If I could rate this more than five stars, I definitely would!

I’ve been coming to this Bob & Edith’s since about October/November last year. Post drink dosh, you know? Anyway, there’s two things that makes this place extraordinary:
1. The vanilla milkshakes
2. Megan
The milkshakes are to die for. I’d even eat them sober. They’re better than IHOP’s milkshakes, and that’s hard to do,
Even better is Megan. She remembered my friends after we came here twice, including our names. She really is the epitome of service with a smile. She really puts the hospitality in Southern hospitality, even though we’re only a stone’s throw from Satan’s Waiting Room (DC).

I’ve been told that the Bob and Edith’s diners are hit or miss, but this one knocks it out of the park. The service can sometimes be a little slow, but it’s definitely worth it and the staff are very friendly. The country fried steak is amazing.

Bob and Edith’s is a regional chain greasy spoon diner. They are open 24 hours. Everyone seats themselves, when they are full they don’t take your name down to make a list – you wait “in line” until a table is free then you go and claim it.
I showed up at 11:30a on a Sunday, and as expected it was crowded. We had a short wait but got seated within 15 min.
For what it is, everything went well. it was clean, we got our order in pretty quickly, and the food was served somewhat quickly and was decently tasty. Our server was attentive and refilled our coffees and waters regularly. My over easy eggs were cooked over easy.
This was my first time at a Bob and Edith’s (I’m not from the area) and I would go again to try more of their menu. I was too full for dessert but hope to remedy that soon. For the price and how everything went, it was good enough!

Merry Christmas Eve I just left there at 3:00 a.m. this morning. The server Megan F was fantastic. She has to be the most patient woman that I’ve ever met in my life. She had a table of seven kids well teenagers this she had someone at the front as well as myself, she knocked out all their orders. And of course I was being slow and I asked about the grits where they instant or were they regular grits and she understood what I meant when I said a regular grits LOL. And I meant to tell you they were regular grits salted buttered with a little touch of pepper they were perfect I also ordered a corned beef hash I asked my man in the back couldn’t make sure it’s crispy on top. Yes it was crispy on top. This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a bobbing eaters I haven’t been at this location and probably 8 years you need to give Megan a raise make an F so you don’t get confused and you going to give her a right hand man to cook a raise because I hope he doesn’t get mad because when I want some grits I’m coming to see him LOL. You guys have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year’s stay blessed

Late night eats at its best!! A++ This is truly a “classic” diner feel. Dining room is spacious and well lit. Food selection was massive for 3am dining. Our server was friendly and asked great questions to make sure our food was prepared exactly how we liked. Our meal was fast, hot and well portioned. I will visit every time we are in Alexandria. The deserts………. fire!

This is actually a very nice place. I’ve been here twice and have seen the other locations. I do plan on coming back. One of the best parts is it is open 24/7 with no menu restrictions on time. Pretty clean, pretty good service, pretty decent prices. Menu has a good amount of options, to the extent where it’s hard to make a decision. Food is good.
If I were to choose a place to cross shop, I would think about Denny’s or IHOP. Local IHOPs are not 24/7, at least not around this location. Denny’s has been a bit disappointing when it comes to late night service. I would rather support this local chain.
