From the beginning to the end our birthday dinner was an incredible experience. We were celebrating her birthday and she truly enjoyed it! The simplicity, but sophisticated restaurant ambience, to the mellow live music in the background complemented with an amazing view of the city and Brooklyn bridge at night time made our experience to be out of this world. The food was absolutely incredible, with a bold flavor and every bite taking us to a different level of joy, more gratefulness and sharing each other’s dishes for more discoveries of childhood and times when food actually had taste. Each dish was unique in its own way and the chef’s complementary side or dishes took us to heaven. Now, the drinks, outstanding and well done, strong as they should always be made. The attention of the staff was incredible, from the moment we entered until the moment we received the check. An absolute dreamy birthday that came to life in the city that never sleeps, they say, but we slept like babies after this incredible diner at the River Cafe.

Visiting this restaurant is an experience, not just a meal. Everything about it our visit here was fabulous. For us it was a splurge while visiting New York, to celebrate our Engagement, and The River Cafe kindly gave us a window table for this special occasion. The skyline looking back across New York from under the Brooklyn Bridge was truly spectacular. New York even decided to have it start snowing while we were there which meant we walked out into a winter wonderland. There was also someone playing the piano which added so beautifully to the ambiance. The food was flawless. Everything we ordered was taste profile balanced and so yummy. There were complimentary little entrees before our chosen entrees arrived. The pace of food coming to the table was not rushed. The service was excellent. The only thing I can think of to enhance the meal/experience would be a palate cleanser. I would highly recommend a visit to the River Cafe.

An absolutely unforgettable dining experience.

From the moment we arrived, The River Café delivered everything you hope for in a truly special New York evening. The setting alone — with breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge — creates an atmosphere that feels both romantic and timeless.

Service was impeccable: attentive without ever feeling intrusive, warm, professional, and perfectly paced throughout the night.

Every dish was beautifully presented and executed with precision. The flavors were refined, balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Each course felt intentional, turning dinner into an experience rather than just a meal.

The wine selection complemented the food perfectly, and the overall ambiance was elegant, calm, and exactly what fine dining should feel like.

In a city filled with dining options, The River Café truly stands out. Worth every moment and a place I would gladly return to for another special occasion.

An exceptional dining experience with a stunning waterfront setting. We celebrated our anniversary here and everything felt special — impeccable service, outstanding food, and beautiful attention to detail, including a handwritten message on the dessert. ❤️

One small note: our reservation required an extra confirmation despite having already confirmed via WhatsApp. A quick call resolved it, and although we were initially seated away from the window, we were promptly moved when a window table became available. Overall, a memorable and elegant experience.

Dining at The River Café is truly about the experience. We had the three-course meal, and the overall presentation was elegant. The environment was very cozy and romantic, with beautiful views under the Brooklyn Bridge, and the staff was nice, attentive, and amazing throughout.

While the courses were well presented, the desserts felt quite costly and didn’t fully meet expectations for a Michelin-level experience, as the flavors were a bit bland.

I’d recommend visiting in the summer if you want to fully enjoy the atmosphere and surroundings. Overall, it’s a memorable place mainly for the setting and service.

Incredible experience. We went the night of the blizzard and everyone was so professional and we never felt rushed which is something I was worried about bc we knew we would be paying quite a bit for the meal. The service was outstanding and we truly felt like we were treated like royalty. Get the hot foie gras!!!!

The River Café

An evening at The River Café in New York is more than fine dining — it is a complete sensory experience framed by one of the most iconic backdrops in the world.

From the moment you arrive under the Brooklyn Bridge, the atmosphere sets itself apart. Twinkling lights reflect off cobblestone paths, snow gently lining the garden beds in winter, and the illuminated bridge towers rising dramatically overhead. The setting alone feels cinematic. It is romantic, historic, and unmistakably New York.

The entrance is elegant and lush — overflowing with orchids, fresh florals, and curated greenery. The décor blends classic refinement with warmth: polished wood ceilings, soft golden lighting, and an intimate dining room that feels both exclusive and welcoming. The Michelin plaques displayed near the entrance quietly confirm what you already sense — this restaurant operates at the highest level.

Service here is precise and polished. Staff move with confidence and professionalism, presenting dishes with ceremony and attention to detail. Nothing feels rushed. Nothing feels casual. This is structured hospitality at its finest.

The cuisine reflects discipline and craftsmanship. From impeccably prepared seafood and refined appetizers to perfectly executed steaks with textbook doneness, every plate demonstrates respect for ingredient quality and technique. Sauces are balanced, portions are thoughtful, and presentation is elegant without excess.

Yes, the pricing is premium. This is not an everyday dinner spot. But the cost reflects:

• Prime ingredients
• Masterful culinary execution
• Michelin-level standards
• Iconic waterfront location under the Brooklyn Bridge
• An atmosphere that few restaurants in the world can replicate

The River Café is about excellence without compromise — in food, service, and setting.

For those who value tradition, refinement, and an unforgettable New York dining experience, it delivers exactly what it promises.

Are you looking for an elegant location in Brooklyn with a stunning view of Manhattan? This is your choice. The atmosphere is beautiful. The food on the menu is Michelin-star quality dishes. The River Café offers a dine-in experience or a dine-in experience for extravagant weddings. I recently had my sister’s wedding reception here and everything from the ceremony to the cake cutting was handled with care. It was a top-notch experience. The staff were very polite. The prices were high, and the high costs will bring you top-quality service and Michelin-starred dishes. I highly recommend you try this restaurant out.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had the most incredible anniversary dinner here and every detail exceeded our expectations. From the moment we sat down, the service was warm, attentive, and thoughtful — they made the evening feel truly special.

The dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavor. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and paired with rich, earthy accompaniments that elevated every bite. The side dish was creative and unique, adding a fun twist to the meal.

The highlight was the anniversary dessert — a stunning presentation complete with a candle and a personalized chocolate message. It wasn’t just gorgeous to look at, it tasted absolutely divine, with the perfect balance of textures and flavors.

This was fine dining at its very best: elegant, memorable, and delicious from start to finish. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate 20 years together. Highly recommend for any special occasion

Definitely not worth it. I was very disappointed in this experience especially considering the steep price tag. The best part of going here was the entrance autumn decor and the sunset drive over Brooklyn bridge. We were seated at a rubbish table even though I had booked back in February and the restaurant wasn’t fill at the time of reservation. So we had a horrible view of the back wall and the service station (I saw they did this to numerous young couples). If you have a yearning for the “experience” I would recommend you stop by the outside to take in the views of the exterior decorations and maybe pop in for a glass of wine at the bar, and then take yourself elsewhere for a decent meal and good service. Service is just meh, the food is not memorable or particularly well executed. The duck was very tender and so was the octopus. But the dishes as a whole were not tasty or good quality. The souffle was curdled and had scrambled eggs vibes and the cheap chocolate used on the bridge dessert made it pretty awful.
