Bri, the bartender, was a proper legend. Despite getting hammered with service well tickets for the dining room, she handled it with a cool, positive demeanor. Fair play to her, she never let the stress bleed over to the wood; she kept the drinks full and the vibe fun. If you’re lucky enough to snag a spot at the bar when she’s working, you’re in for a treat because she really runs the show like a classy cocktail party.
The food was bang on, too. A colleague on a local project mentioned this place was “reeeeally good,” and she wasn’t blowing smoke. First up, the Fried Spicy Calamari brought a wicked kick from the roasted red and banana peppers. Then, the French Acadian Chicken Linguine proved to be the business—the Cajun cream sauce was spot on, and the chicken had a nice sear.
Dinner capped off with the strawberry cheesecake served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream loaded with tiny peanut butter cups. Honestly, if the locals are fighting for parking spots here on a Monday, you know they’re cooking with gas.
One highlight was the service: the waitresses were friendly and efficient, which made the experience smooth and pleasant. The only downside for me was the interior lighting—the restaurant is quite dark inside, which I personally didn’t enjoy.
All things considered, I’d rate my experience a solid 7 to 8 out of 10.
Host was completely rude when walking us 3 steps from the host stand to the bar. Terrible attitude. Our server was barely over at our table. We did get to listen to the bartender complain about her life and her job so that was also a lovely touch.
Our server knew we were ready to cash out – we sat waiting for her for over 10 minutes to come run a payment. SHE NEVER CAME BACK so we left a little extra cash outside of what was left on our gift card. We don’t go out often as we’re working parents, with very busy schedules, (we explained this to our server as well) and I’m just so disappointed we wasted our time here.
*The food was delicious – it always is ( good on the BOH) but the service matters. And for that. We will not be back.
he cares about his work because it certainly shows. Loved the ambiance as well, our server was fantastic. Great experience.
If you want to check them out, plan ahead and make a reservation. We missed that, and the place was completely booked with no open seating in the dining room, but we were lucky enough to grab a few spots of open seating at the bar. Luckily the bartender was great and attentive!
Overall, a great place and even as leftovers, the food was great (course, we only ever get the French Acadian Chicken), but I’m sure the other food is just as good 🙂
