A Columbia institution since 1985, Murry’s brings good food & good jazz to Mid-Missouri. We began with a mission to create a restaurant and bar for adults, with little regard for protocol. That vision is furthered today with an eclectic menu, inviting atmosphere, and lots of jazz. We use many locally sourced products for both the restaurant and bar. Daily lunch and dinner specials are complimented with a wide ranging wine list and full bar. The concept has always been straightforward: Keep it simple and make it good.

Well, over 2000 people have reviewed this place, so I’m not adding anything, but I wanted to try it, so why not?
I found it quaint and lively all at once. Pretty good atmosphere, which is great because it looks like nothing from the outside. A good old-fashioned restaurant feel.
I had the frog legs and philly. Both were good. The philly had a really nice beef flavor that a lot of places lose in the philly making process, or because they just use low quality meat. That wasn’t the case here.
Service was good. Almost exceptional. Very good. Kept up with me quite often, and made sure I had what I needed. Got seated quickly too, ahead of time expectations.
Biggest issue is parking. Good luck. Lol

This place was absolutely fantastic and I can’t wait to go back. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned flawlessly. We were immediately surprised when we had the first course which happened to be their onion rings. My husband decided to order the onion rings and I ordered the fries with Brie cheese dip so we could try both. They brought a large amount of onion rings and offered to bring it as an appetizer so we had something to eat while we waited for our main courses. My husband ordered the double pork patty sandwich and I had a grilled cheese. The fries and Brie were a little spicy but they went really well together. The grilled cheese was really good even though I’m pretty picky about grilled cheese. I tried a couple bites of my husband’s pork and it tasted amazing. It came with barbecue sauce but the seasoning was perfect and didn’t need any sauce. We tried to come back a week later but they had a 25-minute wait on a Tuesday. No surprise- their food is phenomenal. If I didn’t have so many tasks tonight, we would have waited. I’ve been thinking about those onion rings all week. Truly spectacular. I also want to add that their prices are very reasonable for the experience that we had. I like the low lighting and the aesthetics of their establishment.

Everything was amazing! From the service to the food was a truly enjoyable experience. Parking lot was a little rough. Highly recommend the onion rings and the cheesy bread! The chocolate pudding with bourbon glaze was perfection!

food was good when they get it right. Fried eggplant was excellent. The steak i ordered well done came on my plate surrounded in red juices and when i cut it open it was medium rare. My husband ate his whole meal while i had to rewait and then i was so upset because of the noise and the table we were placed at. they should NOT have a table by the people in the kitchen. i could easliy lean bk and probably smack one of them which i wanted to for being so LOUD by our table. the service was crap, no refills, no checking to see how we were, and kept talking and gossiping soooooooooo LOUD and i couldnt believe all the staff were standing right behind use by the coke machine drinking wine. It was a mess. idk how they have stayed in business. its like going in a bar with a piano thrown in the middle and a lot of rude 20 yr olds drop food on your table while you get sat at a table less than 3 feet from their kitchen as you listen to them LOUDLY gossip and screach about the customers while they drank. Never seen such crap. I will figure out how to talk to the owner because this was horrible first time i ever went and never will return and will be telling evryone i know to stay away!!!

This was my first time here. We came on a Monday night and the place was packed and on a wait! I ordered the Ahi Tuna with our servers recommendations of adding pesto, tomatoes, and feta cheese. We also had the frog legs and they were amazing!

Best restaurant in Columbia, have been going here for years and is consistently my favorite! Excellent wait staff, food and atmosphere! The live music is always great and adds to the experience. There’s a reason that they’re usually so busy & have been in business 40 years!

My husband and I celebrated his birthday. The ambience was nice but the food was not good. We had fettuccine and the veggies and meat was al carte, no problem but for what you pay it could’ve at least had flavor. The pasta was bland no salt no flavor. The appetizer was disappointing. I have heard so many good things about this place but I rate it as a no go. If I am going to pay 16 for pasta at least we can have some flavor. The garlic bread looked like cheese toast. I’m sorry I will not be coming back.

Prices are insanely cheap. Several amazing tasting menu items under $13. Wonderful place to take your better half. The “Its too expensive” excuses wont work here fellas.
