The food is great. The smothered chicken is incredible.
This is obviously a very popular place. I hope they can find a larger space. The parking situation is stressful, although I admire they try to have ppl out there to try to direct parking tho.
I thought front of house staff was pleasant. The food took a while to come out because they’re so popular.
I hope they get to scale up their business. But I will definitely be back!

I ordered the catfish and shrimp combo with Mac and cheese and cole slaw. I also got a slice of the M and M cake. The catfish was cooked perfectly and the shrimp were delicious. The breading for the shrimp was seasoned. I wish I knew what breaker they used because it was perfect on the shrimp. I liked that the catfish breeder was different than the shrimp and it didn’t take away from the flavor of the catfish. The breading was a good ratio not to much breading used. The
baked Mac and cheese was so good and I got some edge pieces that were so yummy. I got so much food, I was not able to eat all for lunch. So I guess I have dinner for tonight. All the staff are friendly, welcoming, and so helpful. If you like seafood you need to stop at this spot. No tables only counter.

Food is great! Had the fried chicken wings, rice/gravy, and green beans. Rice was a little under cooked, but everything else was really good and hopefully they are able to get a bigger space. Everything is so small from parking lot to inside.

I Decided to order for old times sake. My father and mother use to frequent this restaurant when I was a child. The flavor was one that I have sadly outgrown. Over salty and under flavored. It’s a basic seasoning combo that can ruin the taste of the protein.
Relying on salt and pepper, with too much salt ruins the whole flavor. The pork chops and flounder were also dry. Fried too long sadly. Collard greens tasted a bit like canned spinach and cabbage was bland.
The fried shrimp were decent. The rice was slightly undercooked. The gravy had a premade under tone taste . The hush puppy rings were just okay…The spirit of this place is not the same. The love of flavor and cooking is missing.

Food good but customer service is trash! They never answer their phones. I can understand when you’re busy but on a Thursday night at 7:30 you’re not. I called twice on hold 10 mins the first time with no one answering. Called again and after 10 mins was asked to be on a brief hold well that turned into another 15 mins while I drove there. I come in and the place has 3 people with orders already placed and no one waiting at the counter. I walk in and the lady is standing there DOING NOTHING WITH THE PHONE ON THE COUNTER!! I asked her if the phones were broke and she says no, I’m working off this one, I have someone on hold right now. I said I know, it’s me! You’ve had me on hold for almost 30 minutes.

I just stumbled upon a fantastic black-owned gem—Jack’s Seafood and Soul Food. I decided to try the catfish, fried chicken, and macaroni and cheese, and I also grabbed a couple slices of honey bun cake. Let me just say, you can probably guess how good it was, but I promise you won’t be disappointed! The service was excellent, and the food? Even better. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by and treat yourself to a taste of what they’re serving!

This place is amazing reminds me of my great grandmothers country cooking. Everything here is good breakfast lunch and dinner cabbage is perfect and so is the Mac n cheese which is my favorite and usually I don’t go for Mac n cheese. The people who work here know my wife and I as soon as we order over the phone. Or if we walk in they already know what we are getting!!!

My first time here, definitely not my last. The customer service was great. The ladies were very nice and helpful. The fish was fried to perfection. It was sooo good and crispy. The smothered chicken was good. Only downside was gravy didn’t have any seasoning it was kind of bland.

Man the food is bussin here. I’ve been going here for 6 years now and this place is the best soul food in Raleigh. The plates are very affordable and have plenty of food. Yeah there’s a chance your food takes 30+ minutes to make and your food doesn’t come out right the first time, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. Excellent ladies and gentlemen that work in that place and always busy.
