In That timeframe another Couple came in & sat to the right of us at the counter & also some ppl that were selling their pork products & was offering it to the customers. So we said that we wanted to try it & we did get some eventually after Paula Stopped Playing Around with it. After ALL of THAT WHAT pissed me . Paula had the NERVE to Take The couple’s Order That had Come in After Us Before Ours & Then Delivered Them Their Food Before Ours!!! NEVER Gave us The Juice That Comes With The Breakfast Special, But She Brought The Other Folks Theirs! Then When Asked ABOUT Some Extra Napkins We were Told Since we Had Helped Ourselves Earlier to The Napkins We Couldn’t Get Anymore, Which I Thought WAS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD!!
I Spent Close To $40 Where The Couple Getting Treated so Well Next To Me Spent Half of THAT! I Don’t Know Why THIS Happened, Usually We Have A Good Time, But I Don’t Think We’ll Be Back Ever! I Didn’t Like That Treatment At ALL!
We dined at Rudy’s tonight in celebration of my sister’s birthday. We were a part of a large group of over 30+ people. It took us over an hour to receive our food. We weren’t upset about that because we were having a good time enjoying each other’s company.
However, our night changed around 8:45- 9pm. We were preparing to take a few pictures to remember the moment before we left. Several staff members glared at us with hateful looks, even walked through our group slamming things as they tried to clean to rush us out. They moved chairs around us as if we’d been there way too long. (we hadn’t) After all we’d just gotten our food. A Hispanic woman who cleans the tables came in and started slamming things and stood there as we were all still speaking to each other and having a good time. It was clear that she wanted us to leave.
Shortly after, this woman (pictured) who I assume is the owner, came back and forcibly told us that we needed to leave. I asked her what time the restaurant closed, she said 8 or 9 pm and that they needed to close the room to set up for the next day. I advised her that the website says 10pm and the staff also told us 10pm. I then asked her name, she didn’t want to give me her name. After repeatedly being rushed we just decided to leave the area we were sitting in to head home. Only to find that there were several families still seated and eating.
After we paid for our food at the register, this woman pictured continued to force us out. She approached my family and I as our children were playing on the game machines in the lobby. This woman even went as far as to involved a cop who was there picking up his food. She asked him to remove us. Her claims amounted to nothing, even HE could see how wrong she was. What a horrible way to be treated. This was horrible customer service. Imagine spending a bunch of money at a restaurant with a group of over 30 people just to be treated like dirt.
We tried to discuss this with the owner to let her know that how she was treating was unfair and wrong. She stated “we’re a family restaurant, everybody knows us.” How sad is that.
UPDATE: In reference to the owner response: We DID in fact make a reservation (please see the attached screenshot that reflects our outgoing call to your establishment yesterday). Also you failed to mention any comments regarding your staffs actions towards us. And unfortunately we were not looking for clarity, your actions were pretty clear. We were looking for accountability.
The staff are wonderful. In all the years we’ve come we’ve never had a bad experience with them. Even when our kids were young and one spilled a lot of chocolate milk. Our waitress was so sweet to him. Its a great place for a little date night or brunch. Or to bring your kids and family when they visit.
I recommend checking the specials board on your way in. They often post it on Facebook as well.
We’ve been dining at Rudy’s for several years. We typically have great meals every time we visit.
On some occasions, Rudy’s has a Seafood Buffet. We had their Seafood Buffet recently. The food was very good, and there was a good variety of dishes to choose from.
On the weekends, Rudy’s offers an all-you-can-eat Breakfast Buffet. There are a good number of items to choose from, including pancakes, eggs, 3 or 4 meats, potatoes, french toast, oatmeal, and more.
Since we started eating here, Rudy’s has added a new pizza section, including a pizza oven and a counter area.
Rudy’s has a couple of large spaces that can be used for events or private gatherings.
Rudy’s is one of the best restaurants in the Harrington, Delaware area.
