If you’re looking for basic tacos, this probably isn’t your place. But if you’re open to delicious, unique tacos and great service, it’s definitely worth a visit. There’s a wide variety of fun options with flavorful fillings, and the food and beverages match the restaurant’s fun, artistic atmosphere.

The location is perfect and convenient to walk to from almost anywhere downtown. The service was friendly and patient as we took our time deciding what to try. We sampled six different tacos—each one was delicious. The only downside was that the mac and cheese in one taco was a bit cold, but everything else was fantastic.

Food is excellent. Lots of unique choices. I am a picky eater but the plain Jane worked for me. My husband is more open to foods & has loved everything on both our visits. Table for the 2 of us didn’t take long at all. Staff is very friendly. The carrot cake is massive & excellent. We ate what we could but had to take it with us. Third day trying to finish it & just couldn’t get through it. Will go here every time in town. The bar choices also excellent. Each drink we’ve tried has been great. Parking very close & they are also right next to the Aquarium. I have seen kids in here (they are very welcome) but check the menu before bringing them. If you are not adventurous with your kids with food they may not like much on the menu. They do add lots of flavor to everything might be “spicy” for those not used to it yet.

Maybe it’s because I’ve had much better tacos in California or Texas, but these were not it. The tacos here are mediocre at best. The ingredient choice of each taco just did not seem to mesh very well and created a subpar flavor profile. At the very least the cauliflower was good. Service was quite slow as well. Decor was nice but overall would not recommend.

Tried the steak egg rolls and I liked those with ranch not the bbq sauce it comes with that it says is ginger sauce. Tried the birria burrito no rice in it and that was ok. Not authentic tasting birria like El Agave but ok. The side of egg fried rice was a joke. It is basically spanish rice with eggs and for all my asian and pacific islander peeps, we know the difference.
The waitress may have been busy but not too busy and definitely not attentive to drinks being gone and seeing i took one bite of the rice and not asking how it was so if it was up to me, tip would be considered in that $6 side that wasn’t passable as fried rice. They would have better luck using white rice with eggs n soy sauce to pass as fried rice.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant decor.
However, half of an entire toilet seat was missing. I was honestly not a fan of the food. I’m not usually a picky eater but this was not for me. My mother did not like hers either. Granted everyone likes different things so I’d give it a try if you’ve never been. Just look at the menu first.

Third time visiting Agave & Rye for a dinner with friends. There are so many choices when it comes to picking your tacos- more than most specialty taco places in Chatt. The queso and chips were fresh and crispy. I tried the Rooster, the Chipotle Chika, and the Happy Meal- they were all delicious with their own unique flavors.

This evening was a quieter night being midweek. Our server was excellent and on top of our order and service. The only opportunity we encountered on this experience was the tables had crumbs and stickiness on them. The floors were also very sticky where your shoes would make that tacky sound walking through the restaurant.

We stopped in after seeing great reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I uploaded some photos of the restaurant, but I wish I would’ve added the food too, it was phenomenal!

Highly recommend starting with the chips and cheese dip. The chips are freshly fried tortillas, perfectly crisp and addictive. And the birria tacos? Incredible. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely worth the drive, we came all the way from Atlanta just to try them and we were not disappointed.

If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check this place out.

We had an incredible experience at Agave & Rye in Chattanooga! Our bartender, Channah, absolutely made the night. She gave us personalized recommendations, helped us find creative solutions when we couldn’t decide, and went above and beyond in every way. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and knows the menu inside and out.

The food was fantastic (those tacos never miss), but honestly—we’ll be coming back just for her. Thanks, Channah, for making our night unforgettable!

Very cool atmosphere. Went on a weekday for lunch with no wait time and parked very close by on the street (metered). Tacos are great, the queso is great. Drinks looked great but didn’t partake.
