Located in the very heart of the city, Gauchos offers a fantastic atmosphere, especially for enjoying authentic Uruguayan steaks. The service is excellent. I highly recommend trying the mushrooms, ordering a salad, and tasting a few different cuts of meat. Their warm bread is also outstanding.

I wish I would have taken more pictures for this review as all of the food was amazing! Great Argentinian carne! Superb staff. Great wine! Fast service, but not rushed. Just right. They have so many really good options. I highly recommend this place! We walked in around 1830 with no reservation and were sat right away. It did fill up quickly afterwards though. So, if you plan to come later, I recommend a reservation.

Not a good experience. We should’ve known when the menu stated meat is USA choice . Not good flavor. Tough , fatty , and expensive. Canned hearts of palm and celery sticks. Poor service, couldn’t even get salt & pepper at the table. I took 2 bites of steak it should’ve been obvious I didn’t like but no one came back to table until time to pay. Hard enough to express dissatisfaction in a non native tongue.

Eleven of us dined at Gaucho’s steakhouse in Panama. We found it rather challenging to reach the restaurant by telephone to make reservations. Despite the restaurant’s website indicating it was open, several of us called repeatedly for a couple of hours without success. Furthermore, the website did not accept online reservations. I eventually managed to make a reservation for 7:00 pm. We were warmly greeted and promptly seated. Our server was initially attentive but appeared to become overwhelmed as the restaurant filled. The menu offered a variety of steak options, and ten of us ordered different cuts of steak. The fresh-baked bread was a delightful touch, and our appetizers arrived quickly and were exceptional. However, our salads did not arrive before our main courses, and one of our party did not receive a salad at all. Most of the steaks received positive feedback, though some were not cooked to order and were overcooked. The baked potatoes were small but served with excellent accompaniments. Our server’s attentiveness waned as the evening progressed, and service slowed. Overall, the experience was adequate but could have been significantly better. We will likely try a different steakhouse during our next visit to Panama.

I love skirt steak, and it’s not easy to find one done right. This place nailed it. The steak was pure, clean, no fat, cooked to absolute perfection. The fries matched that same standard. I even ordered a glass of red wine… and I rarely drink. The service was sharp, attentive, and they spoke perfect English. Hint: you can often judge the kitchen by its bread and butter, and theirs was heavenly.

This is one of the traditional and old restaurants of the city. It has withstood time and withheld it’s quality. Great service and great selection of prime quality meat. They use iceberg lettuce instead of romaine for their salads, so salads do not look so appealing, and their side dishes are basic, old school. One comes here for their meat selection 16oz, are not enough! Highly recommend
