Best tacos in Santa Ana and possibly OC! Angel’s Tijuana Tacos …
Reviews
I have to admit, the tacos were incredible they truly reminded me of the authentic street tacos you find in Tijuana. My burrito was solid, though the Spanish rice wasn’t quite to my personal taste. However, the green salsa is absolutely amazing (though I didn’t care much for the others).
If you haven’t tried Angel’s Tijuana Tacos yet, I highly recommend giving them a shot. It is well worth the visit…
I ordered tacos and tried tripa, chorizo, suadero, and asada. All the meats were good, but my favorites were:
1. Tripa
2. Suadero
3. Asada
4. Chorizo
The tripa was a little chewy—it’s cooked, just not super crispy—but I like tripa either way, so I enjoyed it. The chorizo was decent, a little spicy, and that deep red color. The asada was good, and the suadero had great flavor.
The tortillas look homemade and are regular-sized tacos, not the small street-taco size. They’re sturdy and don’t rip, which is a big plus.
The salsas are okay, nothing special, I would ask for more salsa since they only gave me one for 4 tacos. The guacamole is alright. There are a few tables to sit outside, and they even have an armed security guard.
Tacos are $3.25 for any type of meat, and I think the price is fair since they really pack the tacos with meat. Overall, I’d come again. This place is open 9am to 12am
The tacos are delicious. Anyone saying otherwise is clearly biased because the salsa, homemade tortillas, meat, everything is fire. Would rate everything as a 8.5/10
Definitely try a suadero or vampiro taco instead of the normal street taco style. Great bang for your buck. There’s definitely cheaper places to go in Santa Ana but this is delicious, hot, and filling.
Overall, the food was decent, but it was not worth the price. The tacos had an ok flavor, though nothing particularly memorable. The burrito was disappointing for its price, and it felt small for nearly $13. The mulita was okay, and the aguas de horchata were underwhelming.
Now we know why the reviews were mixed.
Ill start with the mulita, the chorizo was bland so I did not eat more than two bites as it was not something I wanted to keep eating. It is possible that with another meat choice I might have enjoyed it.
The suadero taco was dry, overcooked and more like old carnitas. I had one bite and could not have another due to the meat being hard.
The asada taco was nothing impressive. It had little flavor and needed salt. It is better than a standard chain taco shop but not up to par with the other Tijuana style taco shops here in santa ana. It did not seem like it came off the grill. It had a taste of being cooked and then placed in a warming tray.
The Pastor is were It gets good, but not that good. This meat had the Tijuana flavor but much milder. It left you waiting for more but it would not deliver. It was not cooked to a crisp on the outside so it felt soggy.
The cabeza taco was my favorite. Its hard to find good cabeza tacos and this one is good.
The Star of the show was the tortillas. Excellent!!!!!
I will come back for the cabeza. But only if the line is no more than 10 clients.
Edit: ever since the grand opening the frenzy died down the quality has gone up tremendously. The master is top notch. I still have not had the asada again but I can assume its better.
Asada nachos pretty pricy but good amount.

●●● CASH ONLY●●●
Stopped by and this time I couldn’t pay with card/ Google pay, luckily my sister had cash, but this is “VERY INCONVENIENT”
For the price of $12 & a menu that says “every comes with guacamole and salsa” there’s no excuse for this error.
Valen ver… overpriced and overhyped.
