I went to this Irish place with my wife and kid, and we actually had a really good time. We ordered the Shepherd’s Pie, and I’ve got to say — it was delicious. Instead of the usual crust, they used mashed potatoes on top, which was a smart and tasty twist.

I also tried the Irish “Boxty” — basically a potato pancake dish — and it was spot on. The steak fries were cooked perfectly too. For drinks, our server recommended a Smithwick’s Irish beer, and it paired really well with the food.

The place itself has a great vibe — lots of Irish décor, cozy atmosphere, and an overall fun feel.

Now, a funny moment — I ordered the salmon and asked the server if I could get just a little bit of rice and a little bit of bacon on the side. She came back and said I couldn’t. I mean, come on — we’re in America, the land that consumes 200000 slices of bacon a min— and I can’t get a little bit? Not a big deal, but definitely made me laugh.

Overall, it’s a great spot. If you’re staying in the nearby hotels, it’s an easy walk and totally worth checking out for the food, drinks, and chill Irish vibe

One of my favorite stops while in town! Fantastic overall, my favorites are the homemade bread and honey butter, and the blackened tuna sandwich. Great selection of spirits and craft beers, something for everyone!

Showed up on a Monday around 4:30. I believe my waitress was Bella. AMAZING FOOD!!! The chicken strips were perfectly tender and crispy paired with THICK sauce!! I asked Bella for sauce and she SAUCED ME UP! 2 full containers OVERFLOWING! Then I was absolutely blessed to order a salted Carmel cheesecake that was truly sooo delicious. 10/10 food, 10/10 service, and 10/10 environment

An Irish pub and grill in ames iowa. Lots of Irish whiskeys to choose from, scan the qr code to get the beer list which also has many options. A nice quiet place to grab a quick bite before heading over to catch an isi basketball game.

Long wait however it was homecoming weekend. Not impressed with some of the servers that didn’t feel personal hygiene was necessary nor did they smile or seem like they liked their job. Very flat, impersonal and difficulty hearing us with how loud it was in this place. Atmosphere was dark, dusty and I’m afraid to know how long it’s been since the little water fountain/river has been cleaned that’s by the front door. All in all it was ok, it wasn’t our first or second option but with the wait times at other places we went here. Bartender liked to play with her long hair in between making drinks and didn’t bother offering us a menu. It’s absolutely too loud to hear anyone at your table.

Dublin Bay has consistently been one of my favorite places to go since moving to the DSM area over 10 years ago. Fantastic food, consistent, every time I’ve been there it’s been a great experience. The staff are amazing and always make me feel welcome. 10/10, no notes, if you haven’t tried it yet, you definitely should start today.

This was my first time at Dublin Bay, and I can’t recommend it enough. The restaurant looks amazing and welcoming. The food was fantastic. It was hard to choose, but with some recommendations from our server Autumn (who was also awesome and super friendly), we made some top picks. (My husband recommends the whiskey as well, lol)

We did need to wait a bit for our table. Worth it though.

Always delicious food. Waitress did a great job with serving. We didn’t care for onion rings, they were good, just not great. Everything else was delicious.
