Bar Boheme is a Houston bar set in Montrose, Houston, near the edge of Midtown, prized for our selection of wine, beer, spirits, and exceptionally good food. You’ll find an extensive outdoor bar and patio here, which was voted Best Patio by Houston Press readers. Boheme is ideal for casual drinks or cocktails before or after theater and arts events in the Fourth Ward area. Our cozy bar and restaurant are set inside a refurbished historical building, which used to be a lighting shop in the 1920s. The large garden outside features stone sculptures, antique light fixtures, exposed brick walls, giving it the perfect old-world lounge feeling. Inside you can find a wooden wrap-around bar and seating for up to 40 people.

Montrose bar with artsy vibe offers wine, cocktails, thin-crust pizzas & plenty of outdoor seating.

Boheme offers a stylish, energetic dining experience with strong food and atmosphere.
From the start, the vibe stands out—modern, lively, and well-suited for both dinner and a night out. Later in the evening, the DJ adds to the energy, making it feel more like a social destination than just a restaurant.

Service was excellent. Angelica was a great bartender—friendly, attentive, and clearly comfortable behind the bar. She brought a warm, welcoming presence that made the experience better overall and kept everything running smoothly.

The food was solid across the board. The beef manti was flavorful and well-prepared, with rich seasoning and good texture. The truffle burger was indulgent and satisfying, and the truffle mushroom flatbread delivered exactly what you’d hope for—earthy, aromatic, and well-balanced without being overwhelming. A Topo Chico was a refreshing, clean pairing with the meal.

The only downside was the 22% service charge. While the service itself was strong, I do hope this doesn’t become the norm, as it can catch guests off guard.

Overall, Boheme is a nice place with good food, strong drinks, and a fun nighttime atmosphere. If you’re looking for a spot that transitions well from dinner into a lively evening scene, this is definitely worth checking out

Loved everything about this place; great atmosphere, food, drinks. Love the happy hour and received great service from everybody. The espresso martini was smooth and chocolatey, the dizzy guava lit my molars on fire (in a good way). Will be back, can’t wait to try drag brunch. <3

This is a cute and cozy spot that offers interesting menu items. The owner is really sweet and personable. I enjoyed lunch here during the week and had a great time. I had the Boheme truffle burger and fries and a strawberry smash mocktail. Everything was tasty and made fresh. I would highly recommend stopping by.

If you want a cozy, romantic, or just chill spot, this is it. The decor is all candlelight and wine bottles, and the outdoor patio is huge. We went on a Monday (Happy Hour is a steal!) and everything from the beef empanadas to the Vietnamese fries was 10/10.
Staff (Angelica and Oscar) were incredibly friendly and bilingual, which helped with the menu. Everything was perfect until the check came with a mandatory 22% tip included. For just two people, that felt a little forced, especially since tipping should be at the diner’s discretion. Luckily, the service was actually “superb” so it wasn’t a total dealbreaker, but just a heads-up for future guests!

What a great atmosphere with great service. Went for happy hour and was immediately handed a HH menu. In midtown some places almost hide the HH and you have to ask, It was refreshing to have it offered with a menu. Drinks are on point, the HH bites are very good and a great value. This is a real gem of a spot, not trying this space sooner is a regret.

Ambiance: Wine bar between Montrose & Midtown with a super cozy and dark ambiance perfect for a date night, special occasion, or catching up with a friend or two. They often have live music and their happy hour specials are amazing. Their empanadas are delicious and the cauliflower bomb is a must order! I have enjoyed all of the wines I have tried. Great selection of wines and cocktails!

Clean bathrooms, street parking available (a bit challenging during peak hours), and they have a patio.

The happy hour was so reasonably priced and the food was good. Love the patio in the back. And I so appreciate when bars include mocktails in the happy hour pricing. My virgin mojito was delicious. Will definitely come back

I love the drag brunch here but the way this place is managed is annoying. Be aware of the 22% service charge and the hold they put on every card. The prices on the menu didnt match what was charged. You definitely leave feeling like they have nickled and dimed you.

Edit due to response* I shouldn’t need clarification on why the menu says one price and my check says more… I shouldn’t need clarification on any of it. It should be listed clearly on the menu… I talked to management that day and didn’t like her response.

I stopped by this evening between 7 and 8, hoping to revisit a place that once felt familiar and welcoming. Unfortunately, that warmth has disappeared. When I walked in, there were only a handful of patrons, yet none of the three people behind the bar acknowledged me…not a greeting, barely even eye contact.

When I finally placed an order for a single drink, the bartender automatically added gratuity that amounted to nearly 30% of the total. No explanation. No conversation. Not even a smile. Just a presumptive charge that left a sour taste long before the drink did.

This used to be my go-to spot whenever I came home to Houston. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. I won’t be returning, and I certainly will no be recommending it to friends, colleagues, or anyone I meet in the corporate space. Some places forget that hospitality is what keeps people coming back. This bar, it seems, has forgotten entirely.
