This is the second Federales we have visited, the first being in Denver, RiNo district. We didn’t realize it was the same when we arrived, but as soon as we did, we realized it was the same and were reminded of how spicy the food was during our visit to Denver. We decided to give it another try. We arrived right before noon on a Friday, and the place was completely empty. This is a large place, with a very large bar, so it is a good option if you do not have reservations on a busy day. We sat at the bar, and were promptly greeted by the bar tender, ordered two beers, and chips and salsa arrived quickly. Their chips are seasoned, but not overly seasoned. The salsa leans more medium spice level but has a good flavor and is chunkier. My wife and I each ordered two tacos, pork and pineapple, barbacoa chicken, and baja (fish), and a side of rice and beans. The food arrived quickly, was presented well, and the tacos were full. The tortillas were too thick for us. As we remembered, the food was spicy, including rice and beans. I can tolerate high levels of heat, so it was fine for me, but my wife found it too spicy. If you could have some options on spice level, this place could be five stars. The outdoor area would be nice during warmer days, and the bar and restaurant are very big.

The breakfast burrito, chicken and waffles, and breakfast tacos were delicious. The bottomless mimosas is interchangeable with the vodka etc. So delicious and so worth it. We will be back! I suggest Uber because the parking is slim

Walked here from the Science Center for a late lunch. Great find! Very good classic margarita, chips with salsa and guacamole, and the tacos. Jacob provided good, patient service (we’re not taco regulars). Nice outdoor vibe.

This is a great experience….GREAT tacos my favorite was the pork with pineapple. The salsa was perfect also. DJ killed it for entertainment and the waitress was amazing!!!!

I loved the food here it was good however it was my first time here i just feel like the host attitude was rude , then once seated the first waiter we had seemed impatient luckily another waiter took over luckily she had great customer service overall nice atmosphere, great food needs to work on customer service

First time in Nashville and walked here from the hotel and I’m glad we did!! We came on a Wednesday night and it felt like a weekend. Plenty of good vibes, the drinks were good and so was the food! Our table had everything from fajitas, to enchiladas, tacos, and the burrito and everyone demolished their plates lol. The waitress gave us some good suggestions and even though it was busy she checked on us frequently and made sure we were good. I tried the tequila mule and someone else had the tiki drink and both were perfect and I’m not a tequila drinker at all. Will definitely come back again!

Federales in the Gulch is such a fun spot! A reservation is definitely key if you want to have a good time without the wait. The drinks are great, but honestly the food is even better. My husband is obsessed with the steak tacos, and I can’t get enough of the potato tacos – chef’s kiss! Not personally a fan of the vegan chorizo, but everything else we tried was delicious. One thing to note if you’re vegetarian/vegan: the beans and Mexican rice do contain chicken powder. I also love the outdoor feel and the lively ambiance – it makes the whole experience even better. Parking is simple with the paid lot nearby, which is a big plus in the Gulch. Our server, Zuriel (hope I spelled that right!), gave us 10/10 service – super attentive and friendly. We’ll definitely be back!
