Driving up to the restaurant, the rustic look and well manicured landscaping is attractive and inviting. This is in Durango and we are from Texas. This is not Texas BBQ, however, the flavor was good and I enjoyed my salad. The atmosphere with the decor, the music, and the foliage is entertaining. The only service is the staff taking and filling orders; you do everything else for yourself. So, I feel like what service we experienced was well done. Had the weather been a little better when we were there, we may have seated ourselves on the outdoor patio. It’s beautiful.

I got the pulled pork sandwich with the cherry salsa on it. The salsa was very good. The pork was a little dry but I used the bbq sauce at the table and it was good. The cheesy potatos and coleslaw was very good as well. I would deffinetly eat here again if in the area.

We were driving through Durango today and was looking forward to Serious Tx BBQ. We visit TX for BBQ, and we love the dry rubs and the thicker bbq sauce. So, when we tried this place, we were surprised the sauces were closer to Carolina sauce, runny, and very vinegary.
It wasn’t bad but not what we were expecting. The ribs were good even though the sauce was too vinegary for us but the brisket was flavorless albeit very tender. The mac and cheese was a complete bust with overcooked macaroni and dry consistency. The beans were bordering on chili but again pretty dry… wondering if the liquid boiled away. And the potato salad was just ok, especially when the small is in a tiny condiment cup. We tried Woody’s BBQ in Alamosa the night before and they were out of ribs but their brisket was delicious.

The brisket sandwich was excellent. The slaw was above average. The service was extraordinarily efficient. It seems like a nice place to watch a ballgame and/or take the family. I would definitely come back.

This place was awesome. The food was tasty and the sauce was good. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. The tables were clean and the wait was not very long. If you’ve ever been to Rudy’s then you’ll be familiar with how they operate here. If you haven’t, no worries because it’s easy to figure out. The river can been seen inside and from the patio area. If you go to Durango add this place on must do, if you’re looking for some good tasty BBQ. You will be glad that you did.

We like this place. The Nachos are plenty for me for a meal. Pulled pork is excellent. My husband said the brisket was too dry (not enough fat left on it). Sit on the patio overlooking the river. Take in a round of miniature golf.

Coming from Louisiana we appreciated the counter service ordering. It’s old school but it works. We went with the Texas Taco, brisket taco with Mac and cheese, and some nachos. As someone who complains about portions I was not disappointed here. Good flavor on the meat. Sweeter more runny sauce is what we are used to so this was on point for us.

The service was friendly and efficient, and the food was delicious – solid 4-star quality. We both opted for the BBQ Tater, and it was an absolute “bomb” in the best way possible! Seriously tasty, packed with flavor, and incredibly generous in portion size – neither of us could finish it, which means great value for your money.
To wash it all down, we enjoyed a local Durango root beer, which was a nice touch. And for those with furry friends, you’ll be happy to know the outdoor seating area is dog-friendly, making it an even better spot to enjoy a meal.
If you’re looking for good BBQ with a great outdoor atmosphere in Durango, especially if you have a dog, Serious Texas BBQ is definitely worth a visit!

Being from Texas this was definitely not Texas BBQ! The meat had a green tint to it and we had it on our way to off grid camp. Needles to say we ended up at a hotel because we all got sick!! Even the dog bc I gave her a piece of sliced brisket! We all paid for our decision to try “seriously Texas BBQ” just thinking about it made my stomach turn! I feel sorry for the people that live in this area and think that’s what we serve in Texas. -5/10 never going back!!!

Our family of 7 shared 2 samplers and added some drinks and sides. Everything had great temp and flavor. We enjoyed it so much we came back two nights later and got the loaded baked potato. Yummy! They have the best tea to drink in town. On top of everything they have MINI GOLF! The course was fun for all and the beautiful location made it so memorable. If in Durango make time to stop here!
