I visited Harbor Light Restaurant today after reading so many amazing reviews, and I was really excited to finally try it myself. First off, the location is super convenient right along the highway, which makes it an easy stop whether you’re traveling through or just looking for a nice meal nearby. When I arrived, there was about a 12–20 minute wait before being seated, but honestly that’s usually a good sign that a place is popular and worth it.
Once seated, I immediately noticed how clean and well-kept everything was. The dining area felt fresh and comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. The service started off great friendly staff, quick seating once our turn came, and attentive order taking.
The highlight of the visit was definitely the Seafood Pot Pie. It was packed with prawns, halibut, Oregon bay shrimp, and crab in a creamy white sauce with a hint of sherry and fennel, all topped with a flaky puff pastry. The flavors were rich without being too heavy, and the seafood tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. You can tell the kitchen really puts care into their dishes because everything was hot, well seasoned, and beautifully prepared.
My server was polite and pleasant when she took my order and delivered the food, but after that she checked on other tables a few times and didn’t really circle back to mine. It wasn’t a huge issue, just something I noticed since everything else was going so well. A quick check-in would have made the experience feel more complete.
Overall, it’s a great place with delicious food, a convenient location, and a welcoming vibe. Despite the small service hiccup, I’d absolutely come back and would recommend it to anyone passing through or living nearby.

Best food in the Reedsport / Winchester Bay area! Great flavor, high quality, fair portions. Family-friendly atmosphere with outdoor seating option. It was busy when we arrived, but that didn’t affect the quick and responsive service that we received.

We stopped in on our way home from a coastal camping trip and was happily surprised by the quality food and service! Clam chowder was so good we bought some to take home! Onion rings were perfectly crisp and huge! We will definitely stop in again!

We arrived thirty minutes before close expecting to hurry so that staff could finish their night. We were immediately happily greeted and seated, and felt absolutely no sense of urgency from the staff. We asked for advice from our server, and she ended up providing excellent recommendations! This place has mostly seafood and elk, and a couple sold out lobster options at the time of our visit.
We had halibut with onion rings and cod with onion rings. The fish was cooked to perfection! Being raised by a seafood broker, I have spent my life sampling the best of the best. The oil temperature was high enough to get a light and crisp breading with firm and flaky fish. No sogginess or burned/bitter oil flavors. Onion rings were a great choice with a crisp tempura coating over thick slices of onion. The dessert options were on display and looked sooooo good and fresh! Friendly, excellent service! Will stop here again if we pass through Reedsport on our travels!

This small, family-oriented restaurant is an absolute gem on the Oregon Coast. Hands down, it serves the best clam chowder on the coast—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. What really sets it apart is the option to top your chowder with fresh seafood, which takes it to another level.
The crab cakes are amazing—perfectly cooked, flavorful, and definitely a must-order. To start, do yourself a favor and get the calamari or the crab cakes (or both). You won’t regret it.

I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!! HUGE portions, GREAT price and AMAZING customer service!!! Our family of 4 (2 young kids) stopped in during our roadtrip and everyone was raving about what we ordered! Daily specials were high quality and unique! Clam Chowder was meaty and hearty! Kids meals were huge and tasty! Desserts were homemade and incredible!!! So happy we stopped in! Sorry I only took videos of our food so photos are screenshots

The absolute best meal I’ve had out at a restaurant in a long while. The food was fresh, delicious, and not to mention perfectly cooked!!! I can’t tell you that everything on my plate (I got the special “Steak Diane”) the potatoes, green beans, steak, (I added prawns), they came out the most most and best tasting prawns, with a little dill, I’ve ever had. Highest regards and compliments to the chef. Definitely recommend this spot! And to the owners and or chef, keep it up!

Food was pretty good! I enjoyed my fish and chips and it was quite a large salad. A bit pricey but not unreasonable, very standard with the going rates nowadays. They use canola oil here so it was safe for peanut allergies. Our server was a very kind gentleman. Small restaurant but food presentation was gorgeous and very pristine after it finally came out. I went for dinner at Harbor Light and the food was amazing. I ordered the Clam Combo (2 clam fritters, clam strips and coleslaw w/a cup of chowder). The clam fritters and strips were really good but the star of this show was the chowder! OMG! I was actually very disappointed because I’ve always prided myself for making the best clam chowder around and this was hands down better than my own. Creamy, maybe slightly cheesy, full of tender big chunks of clams and not one grain of sand. It was so good I’m stopping by to get some to go one my way home from work today. The service was top notch without being over intrusive. If you are coming to Reedsport and you want an excellent meal and unbelievably reasonable prices (ave. price for a dinner was $20), HARBOR LIGHT is your place! Wow…..JUST WOW!
