This is the spot to get any and everything Chinese cuisine in AVL. Love this place. The dim sum here is top notch and their noodle soups are some of the best we’ve had!

I’ve ordered multiple times for dine in and take out and this place is consistently good. The locals here know it cause red ginger is always packed with guest everytime I go!

I forsee myself coming here for as long as I live in asheville. Its been one of my early favorite spots and still one of my top recommendations when asked.

Finally found authentic dimsum!
Great atmosphere and service.
The food was everything we dreamed of!
Started off with Yau Choy – baby bok choy with garlic sauce – excellent!
Scallion Pancakes were perfect.
Pan fried Vegetable Dumplings were lightly toasted and the veggie stuffing was very flavorful.
Pork dumplings Shanghai Style – tasty soup dumpling.
Yu Siang Eggplant was also amazing – not spicy, which was fine.
No complaints here!

Delicious food! All orders tasted great. My toddler loved the lomein, I asked the server to cook less salty and it was great for my baby. Shrimp dimsum and soup dumplings were great. Beef was also delicious. I would visit again on my next visit to Asheville.

I’ve tried many Chinese restaurants in the U.S., and this one is definitely on the more authentic side. Overall, as a Chinese person who cooks a lot at home and is pretty picky about flavors, I’d give most of the dishes a solid 4 out of 5.

The only minor downside was the spring roll — the wrapper was fried a bit too hard. Everything else was quite good and tasted authentic.

Overall, a pleasant experience and a place I’d be happy to come back to.

Red Ginger in Asheville is such a vibe. It’s a DimSum and tapas spot with a lively atmosphere, fun decor, and both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff was super friendly which made the whole experience even better.

The menu is all about shareable plates, so we went in on a bunch of different dishes. We had the sautéed string beans with a garlicky mild spice, Shanghai-style pork dumplings, their spicy chicken that packs a real kick with the Szechuan peppers, fluffy steamed BBQ pork buns, chicken lo mein, and Szechuan wontons with shrimp and pork in a hot pepper sauce. We also tried edamame, the steamed pork ribs (worth the wait), and classic pan-fried potstickers.

Our favorites hands down were the pork dumplings Shang house style, the tender steamed pork ribs with black bean sauce, and the crispy pan-fried potstickers. So good.

For a family of four, the price was totally reasonable, especially with how much food we got to try. Hunter was an exceptional waiter! If you’re in Asheville and in the mood for some Chinese-style tapas, Red Ginger is the place to check out.

We made the 2.5-hour drive specifically for their dim sum, and it was well worth the journey. The scallion pancake came with a simple soy sauce accompaniment, while the hot and sour soup delivered excellent flavor and balance. The Gua Bao was the clear standout—absolutely delicious and our favorite of the meal. Both the Cha Shu Bao and Chinese chive dumplings were solid choices with authentic flavors. The Buddha Bean Curd Roll, however, didn’t quite resonate with us.Overall, the service was attentive and the food quality made the long drive worthwhile.

Party of 3 for an off-peak dinner (4 pm ish).

Ordered:
Chicken lo mein
Edamame
King of the Sea roll
Gua Bao
Fancy salmon roll
Pork dumplings
Salt &Pepper prawns

We each had our favorites, but each dish was a pleasant culinary experience.

Service was accurate, personable, and prices were reasonable.

We ended up at Red Ginger, one of those places that feels unassuming until the first bite hits and you realize these people care. Tapas-style plates, dim sum each one crafted like someone actually cares about flavor and balance. You can taste the precision in the dumpling folds, the confidence in the sauces. It’s food made by hands that have done this a thousand times, and still do it with heart.

After dinner, we wandered over to their sister spot, Sweat Treats a name that feels playful until you see the cases lined with pastries and confections that look too pretty to eat. I ordered my usual strawberry matcha milk tea sweet, grassy, perfectly layered and a slice of pumpkin cheesecake so rich it could’ve been dessert’s answer to jazz. Silky, deep, unapologetically pumpkin.

It was one of those nights where the noise of work and the day just sort of fades into the background. Good food, good company, and a quiet stretch of road back through the mountains. Sometimes that’s all you need to remember that life isn’t about the grind it’s about the little escapes, the flavors that linger, and the people sitting across the table.

Stopped by Red Ginger after the Asheville Mardi Gras parade because beads and boas are cute, but Gua Bao is a love language.

The parade ended, but my stomach said, “One more float, please.

We went in on:

Gua Bao that tasted like a soft little cloud stuffed with pure happiness.

Fancy Salmon Roll and Mango Lover Roll looking all glam like they had their own red carpet.

Jing Du Steak so tender and saucy we almost needed a privacy curtain at the table.

Dan Dan Noodles and 5 Spice Chicken disappeared in seconds…no pics of these 2, just crimes of deliciousness.

The energy? Dim sum meets downtown buzz: Steamy, sizzly, and just the right amount of extra. The staff is always on it. friendly, fast, and somehow always appearing at the perfect moment like service ninjas.

I love so many Asheville restraunts, but somehow Red Ginger stays in my top 5: Always amazing, always consistent, and always worth rolling into after a parade, a night out, or honestly… just a SundayFunday.
