I Have eaten at the Fort Street Keg in Victoria often for the last 30years. I very rarely write reviews, however I felt compelled this time because how fantastic it consistently is. My family and I dined last Thursday and everything about the experience was excellent. My entire families meals were exceptional. The service was excellent (they made us feel so welcome and spoiled)! My steak was perfect, my sides were perfect, my desert was perfect! I NEVER have had a bad experience at the Keg and I have eaten there more than I’d like to admit!! I can not say enough good things about this restaurant and I look forward to my next meal!! Thank you to all the staff for making my experiences over the years consistently outstanding!!

Great service from Devon lastnight. It was very busy upon our arrival. It took a little longer for us to get seated even with our reservation. We spoke to the girls at the front about our reservation and they said it would be a little longer of a wait. We asked to use the rest room and after coming back and waiting 5 minutes we were approached by another staff member who told us they thought we had left, which was odd. That being said Devon made up for it with his 5 star service. The food took an hour but given how busy the restaurant was, and with large groups, we were not surprised. Devon was very attentive, despite how busy he was with other tables. The only complaint about the food would be that my steak and my wife’s chicken were both luke warm at best once they came out of the kitchen. The potatoes and vegetables both steaming hot. Also, the staff took into account my several food allergies and that was 5 stars. Overall we had a great night and eventhough we didn’t follow through with it, Devon offered us a free dessert which was a nice touch. Thanks for a great night Devon!

I had an excellent experience at The Keg Steakhouse + Bar and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, upscale, and perfect for a date night or special occasion.
I ordered Filet Mignon, cooked medium-rare, and it was done perfectly —> tender, juicy, and full of flavour.
The seasoning was spot on, and you can really tell they use high-quality cuts of beef. The sides were generous and well prepared (especially the garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables).
The service was just as impressive. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations without being pushy. Drinks were refilled promptly, and the food arrived at a comfortable pace — not rushed, but not slow either.
What really stands out about The Keg is the consistency.
You know you’re going to get a great steak, PROFESSIONAL service, and a polished dining experience every time. It’s more expensive than casual dining, but you truly get what you pay for.
Highly recommend for:
• Date nights
• Birthdays & anniversaries
• Business dinners
• Special occasions
• Anyone craving a properly cooked steak

The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The harbour-view setting made the evening feel special and memorable. Our server was attentive and friendly the entire time. The sides and appetizers complemented the meal beautifully. It’s the perfect spot for a date night or celebration — highly recommend The Keg in Victoria!

Twice baked potatoes always my favorite.
My friend ordered a seafood Oscar steak, hot plate, prefect cooked. However, mine roasted prime rib’s plate wasn’t warm enough, the steak is getting cold quite soon and the fatty part wasn’t that good after all.
Overall, keg didn’t let us down, great service and fairly high quality foods.

The food wasn’t actually great.
The crab was frozen properly when transported to the restaurant, tasted not great.
Overburnt burger buns and the waiter gave us extra fries but they were cold.
It wasn’t the experience expected from The Keg.

I came here with a group of 6 total. We all ordered steaks and everything was cooked perfectly.
We were put in a dingy booth in the corner of the restaurant next to the kitchen door and the bar entrance for employees, so we didn’t enjoy that foot traffic coming past us constantly.
The service was great, attentive and always ready to refill drinks etc.
The twice baked potato was, as always, so good! Lovely cocktails. Little expensive of course so not somewhere we come regularly. It’s a good Keg.

We visited your restaurant today and were very impressed! The atmosphere was wonderful, and the food was incredibly delicious. The steaks and side dishes were perfectly cooked, making our evening unforgettable. A special thank you to the waiter who served us—he was very fast, friendly, attentive, and polite. Thanks to the excellent service and outstanding cuisine, we had a fantastic experience!
However, we would like to draw attention to the work of the hostess. Unfortunately, the greeting at the entrance left an unpleasant impression. Despite having made a reservation in advance, the hostess with long black hair was not very welcoming—we felt a lack of friendliness and a rather dismissive attitude. It would be great if the front-of-house staff were as professional and courteous as the waiters since the first impression is very important.
Regarding convenience—the restaurant has parking, but it is almost always full, so we had to park a block away. Additionally, the parking is paid.

I decided to treat myself to a very nice dinner tonight and my first choice was the keg. It turned out to be a very busy night because of dine around Victoria, but the atmosphere and vibe seemed great. All was good until my bread came out and I couldn’t cut through it nor bite into it. Then the meal came and my steak was underdone, the shrimp and scallops were so small because they were so overdone and my meal was the two out of 10. I told a very nice waitress that I did not want a free meal or to complain or to be that person, but she must’ve told the kitchen manager as he did come by later that evening and sat with me and said the kitchen was struggling this evening. He did discount a little bit which I’m appreciative of, but I still feel compelled to write this review in hopes that they pick up their game.
The only piece of my dinner that was good was the beets and the Bill minor pie. Sad to say the least.
I’ll be back but need you to be better.
