While visiting our uncle, that is 95yrs young, we decided to go out for lunch. With a big smile, he said, “Let’s go to Luby’s.” Luby’s is cafeteria style food line. They offer a great menu to select from. Everything on the menu is made fresh. Their servings are plentiful! They also offer a military discount. We paid $28 for our two full lunch plates, which included a salad, a thick ground steak(medium-rare), broccoli, baby potatoes, and drinks. The kitchen manager is on the line, assuring that the food is freshly served. All of the servers are friendly, helpful, and work systematically as you walk down the line. If you are not capable (♿️ or kids) of carrying your food tray, they will have a staff member carry the tray to your table. Luby’s also has a drive-through take out service, call to order, and a catering service.

The amount of food for thanksgiving plates were amazing, the taste of it was okay. I must say they gave me wrong pie when they should have both been pumpkin. It’s an issue for us because we have a nut allergy. that mistake can cost anyone. But other than that food was okay I feel like the flavor wasn’t there and it almost tasted bland . I recently discovered Luby’s, and I can’t believe I didn’t start coming here sooner. Somehow it flew under my radar, but now it’s honestly my new favorite restaurant. I go at least once a week, sometimes more, and it’s quickly become one of my regular spots.
What I love most is the consistency. Every time I walk in, I know exactly what I’m going to get: solid, comforting food that tastes homemade. There’s something about going through the line and seeing all the options laid out that just feels nostalgic and satisfying. Whether I’m in the mood for classic comfort food or just a simple, well-cooked meal, they always deliver.
The portions are generous, the prices are reasonable, and the variety makes it easy to switch things up without getting bored. Some days I’ll stick with a classic plate, other days I’ll try a different combo. Either way, I leave full and happy every time.
The staff has also been consistently friendly and patient, even during busy hours. It’s the kind of place where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy a real meal without feeling rushed. That balance of comfort, value, and quality is hard to find these days.
At this point, Luby’s is officially part of my weekly routine. If you’re looking for dependable, hearty food that feels like it came straight from a family kitchen, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

Great food and even better staff service! Everyone was so friendly here! I do think that some areas of the building do need remodeling but overall I would recommend this place to just about anyone who wants a great meal at a great price! Kids eat free on Wednesdays and Saturdays so why dirty the kitchen? So if you got kiddos it’s a great opportunity to get out and have a meal together without breaking the budget!

Definitely NOT the Luby’s from our childhood! Hadnt been to a Lubys in years and was excited to go back today. Placed a rather large online order about 6 hours before the pick up time. Many of the items I wanted were showing unavble when I placed the order and the selection of avble sides was very limited. They had plenty of time to communicate that 3 of my items I ordered weren’t available but they waited until I arrived for pick up. Coleslaw, potato salad, and thousand island dressing were all unavailable even though the system allowed me to order them. Staff was helpful at pick up and the gentleman patiently went thru each item with me to ensure it was all there. Macaroni and cheese is usually one of our faves but it was bland and mushy, noodles way overcooked, more watery than creamy sauce wise; its a shame because we ordered it as a side in almost all of the 10 meals we bought. One of the meals was chicken tenders and the ratio of breading to meat was off – way too much breading, my son ended up throwing most of them away. The to go containers for the adult meals are durable with good seals and would be handy if you need to take for a work lunch. A little disappointed they didnt pop the “holes,” in the lids so the steam could escape and not build up making food soggy and wet. Best entree was the bacon cheese steak. Sides were all bland and just ok; green beans weren’t the typical Southern style with bacon and onion for example, just plain green beans with zero seasoning. Mashed potatoes could have used a bit of real butter, cream, and white pepper, they were very bland as well. Portion sizes were great for the price but the taste was lacking so not so sure that counts as a good value. Uncertain if we’ll order again, but if we do it will only be a couple of the items.

It was so refreshing to walk into a restaurant where literally four employees made eye contact and greeted us before I made it to the counter to order. It made it a welcoming experience and unfortunately is pretty rare these days. We ordered Togo and the food was just as good as always. I had never had the crawfish Mac and cheese until today and it was really good!

we enjoy coming here a couple of nights every week. its cafeteria style with plenty of protein, vegetable, and dessert choices. their prices are reasonable and their Luann platter is great and just right for my family. Come try them out for a nice homestyle dinner and friendly atmosphere.

Look, it’s Luby’s. Most dishes under seasoned, many have been sitting on steam tray for a while, basically a buffet served to you. But kind of a tradition to locals. There are better options elsewhere for what they serve, but if your family has been going there for decades that makes it an option (grandma and grandpa liked it!). Safe choice is the square fried fish.

Our server Maria was so kind and she was really good at her job. Leslie the manager was really very professional and thoughtful!
