Wonderful food, atmosphere and location!

Our reservation was for six people and we were promptly seated. Our server was efficient friendly and knowledgeable of all the menu items.

Our drinks were delicious and I would really a Coconut Mojito. Delicious.

Brunch was served quickly and the portions quite generous.

Definitely a go to restaurant for a delicious meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner, while in Philly.

We went to Mixto for dinner on Friday night for the first time. The menu was presented on a computer tablet which was unique. The menu items had pictures and were presented nicely. My wife ordered the Ribeye and I ordered the Ropa Viega. The food was presented nicely and was very inviting. My Ropa Viega was great. I loved the taste and how it was prepared. Unfortunately the Ribeye was horrible. It was the most expensive item on the menu, but was the cheapest meat that you could find. It was prepared fine, but the quality of meat was bad. Hard to chew and had a lot of knots in it that got stuck inbetween teeth. So you can imagine. Ribeye is usually very tender and easy to eat. Not this one. I would stay away from this totally.
The menu has a lot of nice choices, so there is plenty for you to pick from pork to seafood.
The service was unusual. Our waiteress was sitting at the bar and chatting with other employees and eating, while we were waiting for service. I finally had to get up and ask her to come by and bring our bill.
Atmosphere is nice and romantic, but the service not compatible with the vibe they are trying to create.
I would for sure like to try the other dishes on the menu, but the service and quality of the food made me scratch this one from the list of places that would warrant a second visit.

My girlfriend and I decided to spend our Valentine’s evening at Mixto and we very much regret doing so. The food was pretty good, but the service is what ruined our experience. Our server, Junior, took 40 minutes to greet us at our table. I had to speak with another employee before we were spoken to by our server. It took us another 40 minutes to receive our appetizer. To be specific, we arrived at 7:55, 5 minutes before our reservation time, and were greeted by our server at about 8:40. We received our appetizer at 9:20. We were rarely checked up on. Junior provided no words of consolation for the lack of attention either. When we received our bill, we were charged for 2 drinks we did not order. This was later resolved. I asked to speak with a manager and that request was never met. Unfortunately, I had to reward Junior’s service with an 18% gratuity that was required to be paid.

Went to Mixto’s to celebrate mom’s 80th bd. We were served by the wonderful and pleasant Adriana. I started with Guacamole with plantain chips which was a pleasure. The entrée was Churrasco Argentino and it was ordered medium which was tender and had great flavor. Pashion Fruit mojitos complimented the meal and atmosphere perfectly.

Drinks: phenomenal!!
Food: average. Little seasoning or too salty depending on the meat. Very inconsistent.
Service wasn’t the best unfortunately, we waited over 20 minutes for our check. Barely any attention was given to us or any of the guests. Tip is already included, which explains the behavior. Felt like Europe.

This restaurant is located in a lovely area. The food is good, and surprisingly, the coffee was great too which is a pleasant surprise since many restaurants don’t serve good coffee. However, the service could use improvement; during my 40-minute visit, I was attended by three different servers, and their attitude wasn’t very good. Aside from that, this place is still a nice option to dine with friends or even on your own.

I came to Mixto for the vibes, but I stayed for the flavor—and left already planning my next visit.

From the moment you walk in, the energy is vibrant and inviting. The Latin music pulsing in the background, the aroma of fresh spices in the air, and the friendly staff set the tone immediately. Mixto nails that balance between upscale and comfortable. This place is what happens when Miami nightlife meets Old San Juan charm—right in the middle of Philly.

Now let’s talk about the food. I started with the empanadas, and let me just say: crispy, golden, and filled with seasoned meat that made me consider ordering a second round before I was even halfway done. But I behaved. Kind of.

The Arroz con Pollo was a plate of pure joy—juicy, well-marinated chicken nestled in saffron rice, with that perfect bite of smoky depth that tastes like it’s been passed down from generations of abuelas. I also had the Ropa Vieja, and it didn’t just melt in my mouth—it gave me a hug and whispered, “You needed this.” The shredded beef was rich, tender, and wrapped in a savory tomato-based sauce that soaked into the plantains and rice like a love letter to my taste buds.

Drinks? Let’s go. The mojito was dangerously smooth, with fresh mint and just enough lime to wake you up and make you feel fancy at the same time. And the presentation? Let’s just say my camera ate first.

I have to give props to the plating too. Every dish came out looking like a Food Network finalist made it. They don’t just feed you—they flex a little.

The service was top-tier. Attentive but not pushy. They gave great recommendations, checked in just enough, and made the whole experience feel personal.

Whether you’re on a date night, celebrating a birthday, or just treating yourself because it’s Tuesday and you deserve it—Mixto is a must.

Pro tip: Come hungry, bring your camera, and don’t sleep on the tres leches cake.

I love Mixto. Great food, great service. We love coming here to sit outside, but it is equally beautiful inside. It was decorated for the holidays a few days ago, and it was beautiful. I also enjoy the iPad menus, they are very user friendly. The food is always wonderful and they are happy to make substitutions if needed to accommodate dietary restrictions.
