Burgers & other grub are offered along with local craft beers & live music at this industrial haunt.

We were in the area exploring local colleges and chasing waterfalls, when I remembered stopping here a couple years ago. Everything was just as I remembered. Go to favorite was definitely the burger, and the specials were just as mouth watering – happy to say no one left the table hungry!
Whether you are team Key Lime or Peanut Butter, make sure to save room for pie!

Black Mountain, NC, boasts a hidden gem for a quick, delicious meal. We chose to dine there on New Year’s Eve before our evening plans. The culinary experience was impressive, with exceptional food and a friendly staff. The atmosphere was inviting, with a pleasant ambiance and outstanding cuisine. Our selections, the Pub Salmon Cakes and The Trailblazer Burger, were both excellent. I highly recommend a visit to this establishment

This is one of the most affordable places I’ve been in near Asheville. Black mountain is such a wonderful walkable town. This food settled just that, so many options and great prices. A meal and a drink under $15-$20!! Service was wonderful and answered any questions about gluten free options.

We came here for a late lunch after a morning of hiking. Even on a weekday, the place was hopping! We had to wait a few minutes for a table but not too long. I don’t mind waiting when it’s obvious it’s a well-loved restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so much fun! So many cool things to look at. I love the skylights in the ceiling. They also had beautiful fresh flowers on each table. The service was very good. We didn’t love our food, but I don’t think it was because it wasn’t prepared well. I branched out and got perch tacos. I think I’m just not a huge fan of perch. My husband got a burger and he said it was pretty good. The fries were delicious though! There was a great porch for eating outside. I could see enjoying a delicious meal there on a day that isn’t blazing hot!

Bottom line for a place like this- Food is good, service is awful.
Stopped by while visiting Black Mountain because it was one of the few places that were still open. Upon walking in, there was no one at the front where sign said wait to be seated, so we did just that. We waited. And waited. And waited. There was a server who saw us and walked right on by us. Didn’t say a single word to us whatsoever, even after making eye contact.
We finally got seated and the specials and menu options were pretty good! I got the chimichurri steak with corn pudding and asparagus. My boyfriend got the burger that came with fries and added the ‘local beef’ upcharge of +$3. We wished that we were told any info about the beef like where it came from, etc. it took some time for our food to arrive and we went to town and chowed down. It was really yummy! We unfortunately had to wave down our server a couple of times because they did not check up on us. Even asking for the check took a really long time.
Overall, if you’re hungry I’d stop here for a good meal, but don’t expect good service. I can’t say much for the bar as we never got any drinks or sat there.

The steak was great. They were out of asparagus, so I had the kale and it was the best I ever had.

This gem was a treat in the mountains. The food was cheap and soo delicious.
We had the salmon balls ( twin peaks or something) and the house burger.
We couldn’t fault the meals at all. The bacon on the burger took it to the next level. The chips were Gods gift to our tastebuds.
The sweet tea was refreshing more than sweet, yet the refills were generous.
We sat on the dog friendly balcony.
It was a fantastic experience and we are willing to be back next time the Black Mountain calls.

Excellent on all counts! Service was excellent as was the food. The atmosphere was fun and buzzing on a Friday, early evening. Oh, also the prices were reasonable. When we are in Black Mt we will be return customers. It also seems to be a fun place to meet and talk with people at the bar or if you’re not in the mood you could grab a table by the window.
I had the Chili and a nice salad on the side.

Excellent restaurant with good food and nice atmosphere. It can get crowded around traditional meal times. It took about 30 minutes to get in but we did not have to wait long for our food after being seated. I had the Trailhead burger and it was very well prepared and delicious. My friend enjoyed the chicken as well. Nice atmosphere but a bit loud for conversation.

It’s been almost three weeks since I ordered takeout with some family that was visiting from out of town, but still feel like this place deserves 5 stars! They were super busy, as it was on a Saturday (03/29 around 2pm), but the staff looked like they had things well handled and didn’t look stressed out or angry. They were so nice to my brother and I. We came in to order togo, and the bar was packed, but the host was nice and showed us where we could wait for someone to take our order. A really nice lady came to us pretty quickly. She gave good recommendations and had good knowledge of the menu. She kindly showed us seating outside and away from the crowd so we could wait for our food comfortably. Food came quickly and was delicious. I also didn’t feel like I spent all that much money for the amount we got. I was overall impressed between how fast the service was (even being packed), how nice everyone was, and how affordable the fresh food is. My parents live in Black Mountain, so I’ll definitely be back!
