Fiancée and I came in for breakfast on 05/31/2025. Simple and quick, we both had the double sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches. Service was quick but staff weren’t overly friendly. Food was hot and fresh! Not many tables inside for seating so consider taking your food to go. Definitely worth a stop and we will be back!

So disappointed with this place, FOR EVERYONE OUT THERE, THEY STOP COOKING ON THE GRILLE AT 1100. Over half the menu they couldn’t make at 1105, thats both pages of the menu.
Almost walked out but wanted to try something. They didn’t have steak, didn’t have pork chops, only sausage and bacon, not even grilled ham and cheese, seriously.
We got the bacon and egg sandwich bread that was not fresh and not toasted unless you had to ask for that, too.
Bacon was tuff, it should be either chewy or fried like a chip. No seating after another unknown time.
Parking was tight.

Helen’s Sausage House is an absolute gem! I’ve visited twice, and both experiences were fantastic. Their pork chop was perfection and the double sausages? Unforgettable! The locals are incredibly friendly—something I rarely experience in NY—making the atmosphere even better. Service is top-notch, and despite the long lines (a testament to their amazing food), everything moves efficiently. Pro tip: Get there early! They close at noon, and the best selections go fast. Helen’s is worth every bite!

Yes yes yes…
This place was great. It’s a corner pull off with a simple interior. Some beverage coolers and menus on the wall. It’s a small operation but it’s tight. The team in back knock out perfectly cooked eggs over and over, while the team in front take orders and load breakfast sausage, bacon, scrapple and other meats high, very high. American slices or cheese whiz blend with a soft roll for an amazing breakfast experience.
Pork chops next time!

They have fantastic sausage there. Unfortunately I got there a little bit late and missed out on hot sausage, scrapple, and eggs. So if you want those items you need to order sooner in the day. Service is efficient and friendly and the food quality is great. I would love to come back and order more and hopefully get more of the items that I wanted to get.

I am not from the East Coast. Actually, from the Chicago land area. One day, I saw Helen’s on my way to Dover and on my way back. The Name Helen’s Sausage House caught my eye. What really caught my eye was the part “Famous Sausage.” I was inspired to make my way back to Helen’s. I am glad I did. I could see and now taste why it’s called Helen’s Sausage House. Home Of Famous Sausages!!! I got there in time before the line got to long. Yes, the long line was outside after I finished my double sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. The Elvis Memorabilia on the walls where I sat to eat was cool.

A meal worthy of Ron Swanson. Get dangerously close to meat sweats with a double sausage, egg and American cheese or the scrapple and egg. Either will delight your mouth and sadden your cardiologist.

Firstly you can’t pay with card in the 21st century? get with the times.
they made their prices too high for the quality we have come to expect from them(poor).
the reason it got popular was you would go in an run out with a sausage sandwich that you’d only eat the sausage for less than 2 dollars and get back on the road. now they are only in business until the people that remember it being good cease being customers.
the sausage is the only reason to go but there are food safety concerns with storage the later you go. The rest of the food there you would better off making on your own as its going to come out more oily than you could ever make it at home.

This place has counter service and there are tables you can sit at if you would like to eat there. I’m not sure if they serve you. I think you go to the counter, order what you want, and then go sit down or take it out. Staff is very friendly and always smiling. Keep in mind they don’t chit-chat a lot, as that’s how they keep the wait in line short for everyone. We have never waited for more than a few minutes even when the line is out the door.
