They say the Mai Tai is legendary.
They aren’t wrong. It’s very tasty.
There was a 40 minute wait to get in. We put our name on the list and went to go look at the amazing paintings of Max at Infinte Arts and then we got called early. We shared the macnut crusted Mahi and the beet salad. Both were amazing and they were able to accommodate our allergies to make them dairy and egg free. The service is great and the surrounding area makes it for a very memorable experience.

Our food was good, and there is a great selection of mocktails… Be sure to try the (alcoholic) Mai Tai because it’s kind of a big deal at Tahiti Nui! It was our favorite Mai Tai, having tried multiple others at restaurants and bars across the island.

Great spot with an awesome atmosphere and really good cocktails!
We stumbled in here completely by accident and somehow ended up in what felt like the busiest place in Hanalei, great live musicians, people dancing, and legitimately tasty cocktails and beer. Service was just amazing!
The only downside is the price. We ordered a couple of cocktails, one beer, and a small pizza, and the bill was close to $200, which felt a bit steep. The pizza itself wasn’t anything special, but to be fair, this is a bar, not really a restaurant, so I can’t complain too much.
Overall though, super fun vibe and a great place for drinks and live music. Would definetely come back for the atmosphere alone.

Great experience, order from your table and pay tab by phone. Food and drinks were made in record time. Coconut shrimp was amazing, I’m always weary expecting it to come reheated or frozen but these seemed hand made to order. Pizza was surprisingly good, relatively thin crust, good cheese and sauce. Mai Tais didn’t disappoint. Service fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

We had a great meal at Tahiti Nui. I had the Zesty Coconut Catch of the day and my wife had the Kale Caesar salad with steak. For an appetizer we had the Ahi Carpaccio. The carpaccio was very flavorful. I really liked the sauce that came with my fish, and the steak on my wife’s salad was very tender and cooked just right. And overall a fairly reasonable price and glad to find a non food truck to eat at!

Tahiti Nui is already pretty well known but it is absolutely the best! I like to try new places when I come to Kaua’i but I sometimes hit this place more than once. The Mai Tais are the best and my favorite dish, Ahi Carpaccio with toasted focaccia bread is indescribable! I could eat 2 servings it’s so good! The ahi is so fresh and the bread is made inside. The Soy Wasabi Island Fish (seared ahi), pizza…all so good!

The minute I saw purple sweet potato and taro on the menu, I’m all in. We both love the food as the ingredients are local and unique and the flavors are impeccable. My favorite other than my purple mashed sweet potato is the cheesecake! I kept telling my boyfriend it tastes like a heavier Japanese cheesecake with taro filling on top. The crust had a grainy texture, which I love, and it’s not super sweet. We ordered Hawaiian pizza with pork, zesty coconut crusted catch (pricing varies), and waipa lilikoi poi cheesecake plus the Mai tai (so good).

We drove an hour plus to go have a world famous mai tai. Granted it was very good. We were seated quickly at the bar. We ordered 2full dinners at Market Price and dessert and drinks. Food was very good and fresh. However the service left a lot to be desired. Waitress was not very attentive to our needs. I felt overlooked and ignored. I know we were just tourists but we also would have tipped on the whole bill. Disappointed

A fun restaurant with great food and service. We are here in the off season and were able to get a table without a reservation. Reservations are highly recommended and I can see why. They are know for their mai tia cocktails and they didn’t disappoint. I took pictures of our empty plate because we dug in and ate it all before I thought to take a pic.
