Got here on a weeknight about 6pm and it was dead. That might’ve been a clue (it is off season for Hocking Hills), but it filled up with customers as we ate. I love soft pretzels with a draft beer, but I was dismayed that they had a garlic butter coating. My wife thought it was amazing, and complimented the queso well-which, to my surprise, it did!
The buffalo chili was good as well.
She got the chicken Philly, which was good and huge. We took it back to the cabin and had plenty for dinner the next night. She got a large portion of fries, and a pretty good Mac & cheese.
I was intrigued by the meatloaf; and yes, the “red sauce” is ketchup. Not bad though-something you’d make at home for dinner.
Service was good, beer was cold. Overall, a nice place I’d eat at again.

12/30/25 update: We’ve actually been here quite a few times. Our server today, Heath, was great. He made sure that we were well taken care of. I had the Buffalo Meatloaf and it was really good. My wife had her usual, the Monte Cristo, and loved it, as usual. We both went for the blackberry pie and were happy that we did.

We thought food was pretty good. Got the sampler appetizer platter, boneless wings, and a side Cesar salad. All was good and average fairly priced. We felt the Salad was huge for a side salad! Very good. Also got a few cocktails that were great! The Rocky Mtn and blood moon were the best. Enjoyed it all. Our waitress wasn’t the best, but will go again when in HH.

Ax throwing was amazing!! They made us feel at home even though we were out of towners! Gift shop has nice ring selection we purchased and food was good.

Atmosphere was nice, cool patio and a playing area for kids! We sat at the little outdoor bar and watched the Buckeyes. Perhaps consider adding a larger tv and a few more. Our service was fine, now the folks next to us,
Nachos took some time! Fried green tomatoes, two bites of greasy thick batter, just say no. Boneless wings were comparative to Tyson any’tizers except for the cost Burned Bison burger with added liquid smoked flavored, maybe it was
Charbroiled idk…. just not our favorite. Blue moon on tap saved the day!

Upon entering the foyer there were three people sitting and apparently waiting for a table. I went in to the hostess stand and there were three teenagers behind it talking. I asked for a table and was told there would be a twenty minute wait for a table. The place didn’t seem to be that busy, no rushing service happening. It seemed very quiet am calm. They stated that I could eat at the bar where there was no wait. So I went to the bar, as I walked to the bar there was two open six person tables and one four person open. I ordered a 12oz Ribeye with a baked potato and side salad with ranch and a pepsi. The Pepsi didn’t taste like Pepsi and I mentioned it to the bar staff and she apologized and said a another customer stated it didn’t taste right earlier and thought they changed the syrup but apparently didn’t. She brought me another Pepsi it was a little better but still did not taste right. The salad was delivered and as with most restaurants these days the salad wasn’t mixed, a little pile of diced tomatoes a little pile of cheese and a few croutons and plenty of ranch. It wasn’t bad but lacked onion an cucumbers. The croutons were hard as rocks though. When steak arrived it was very large around but very very thin, so thin it was overcooked. The baked potato wouldn’t even melt butter, just a luke warm potato. The steak was almost half fat and didn’t have much flavor. Had to use A1 for flavor. When I got the check there was an added fee as can be seen on the receipt at the bottom. I won’t be returning to this establishment.

Our party of 5 had our minor expectations met but the quality of the food was at or below average. First thing that I saw on the menu were the “huge” fried cheese curds, so it was immediately intriguing. The only thing immediate about these curds was utter disappointment. The curds were average sized at best and cold in the middle. The rest of the food was delivered as ordered and what one would expect in rural Ohio. Steak was tender and flavorful and accompanied the baked potato well.

Portions are large!! Had the fish sandwich and 100% bison burger. The burger was a bit salty but overall pretty good. Service was amazing. Atmosphere is relaxed and laid back but not overly loud. Facilities were clean. Would definitely come back.
