Upon receiving my order, I immediately noticed that the food quality was unacceptable. The fries were cold, and the chicken nuggets appeared to have been held for an extended period of time. I remained at the drive-thru window and advised the employees working at the time of the issue. During this interaction, a male employee physically handled both the fries and nuggets with his bare hands to check their quality and stated that fresh replacements would be prepared. A female employee was also present, though I did not have direct interaction with her.
I was instructed to pull forward to an additional window and waited approximately five minutes. When the food was returned, it initially appeared hot. However, upon arriving home and opening the bag, it became evident that the same food had been reintroduced into the fryer rather than freshly prepared. The nuggets were excessively greasy and unchanged in appearance, indicating they had been reheated rather than replaced.
I immediately contacted the store and spoke with the night shift supervisor, who was very apologetic throughout the interaction and assured me the issue would be escalated to the General Manager. I appreciated his professionalism and willingness to address the matter.
During the call, I could hear both a young woman and a young man in the background. The young man who appeared to be in his twenties and had an afro hairstyle was the same employee who mishandled the food and was heard stating, “How did he know?” This response was unprofessional and concerning given the seriousness of the food safety issue.
This situation raises significant food safety and sanitation concerns. Food that had already been handled by both the employee and myself was placed back into the fryer, creating a potential contamination risk to the cooking oil, equipment, and other customers. Given this risk, the fryer grease should be changed before serving morning customers to ensure food safety.
This conduct reflects a failure in proper food-handling procedures, employee training, and management oversight.
I will be escalating this matter to corporate, as I believe it warrants immediate review and corrective action. Please advise on the appropriate corporate or HR contact so this issue can be formally documented and investigated.

(2) The lady that took my order was not the person who should have been greeting and taking orders. You can tell she didn’t want to be there and her voice indicated so. When I got to the window to pay I told the gentleman that I was not pleased with her greeting and he said that they were working on it. So he knew.
(3) I got home and ate my meal and it was not hot. I live less than a mile from the McDonald’s I went to. The meat didn’t taste right, I ate part of it and gave the rest to the dog. Two hours later I was throwing it back up, but the dog was okay.
I don’t go to McDonald’s often and really I can’t recall the last time I went but I won’t be going again.
